About the Author

Johanna Helen Howard was born in Germany on March 10, 1952. Her father, Edwin Dennis Howard, was a soldier in the U.S. Army, so the family moved around a lot during her childhood.

Growing up, her father always talked about retiring in Hawaii. After he passed away in 1964, Johanna and her mother moved there to honor his dream.

While still in school, Johanna married Ralph Lindsey in 1970 and became a young housewife. They had three children: Alfred, Joseph, and Garret, who have since made her a grandmother.

After Ralph’s passing, Johanna moved to Maine to be closer to her family.

In 1977, Johanna wrote her first book, Captive Bride, on a whim. It was a success, and she went on to sell over 58 million copies of her books worldwide.

Her books cover a wide range of historical eras, including the Middle Ages, the American Old West, Regency England-Scotland, and even a few sci-fi romances. However, her most popular stories are about the Malory-Anderson Family, a Regency England saga.

Sadly, Johanna Lindsey passed away on October 27, 2019, in Nashua, New Hampshire at the age of 67. Despite her passing, her legacy lives on through her beloved books.
