Overview

In the latest installment of the Honor Harrington series, danger looms closer than ever before. The Mesan Alignment, a shadowy organization with sinister plans for humanity, has launched a brutal attack on the Manticoran home system.

Now, Honor Harrington and her team must stop them before it’s too late. But to do that, they must first secure the wormhole network that powers the Star Kingdom, even though it means facing off against the powerful and corrupt Solarian League.

As the thunder of battle rolls on, Honor must fight for survival and freedom against the true enemy of the galaxy. A Rising Thunder is an epic adventure full of action and peril that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

About the Author

David Mark Weber, an American author of science fiction and fantasy, was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1952. Military and naval themes are common in his stories, which fall under the military science fiction genre.

Weber often features female protagonists in traditionally male roles.

One of Weber’s most beloved characters is Honor Harrington, whose name pays homage to Horatio Hornblower and a fleet doctor from C.S. Forester’s novels. Harrington’s story and the “Honorverse” she inhabits have been developed across 16 novels and six anthologies (with more works in progress).

In 2008, Weber donated his archives to Northern Illinois University’s department of Rare Books and Special Collections.

Many of Weber’s books are available online, either in their entirety as part of the Baen Free Library or as sample chapters (typically the first 25-33% of the work) for more recent releases.
