About the Author

Stephanie Laurens was originally from Sri Lanka, which was then referred to as Ceylon, but moved to Melbourne, Australia with her family when she was just five years old. After completing her schooling, she earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry in Australia.

She and her husband then embarked on a journey from Katmandu to London, which was one of the last true overland journeys.

In London, Stephanie and her husband both worked as research scientists in Kent, surrounded by history. They lived in a 16th-century cottage, with the protected ruins of an early Roman villa next door, and a 14th-century castle nearby.

After four years in England, Stephanie and her husband returned to Australia, where she continued to work in cancer research. One evening, while searching for her favorite romance novels, Stephanie realized that she had none left to read.

She had been contemplating writing her own novel for years, and so she began crafting her own story during nights and weekends. This manuscript, Tangled Reins, was the first of her books to be published.

After achieving success with her novels, Stephanie “retired” from scientific research and became a full-time novelist. Her novels primarily focus on historical romances set in the Regency time period.

Stephanie and her husband now live on peaceful acreage on the outskirts of Melbourne. When she is not writing, she spends her time reading or tending to her garden.

Editoral Review

All About Passion by Stephanie Laurens is an engaging historical romance novel that’s sure to captivate readers who enjoy the genre. Laurens is a New York Times bestselling author, widely recognized for her engaging and well-written romance novels.

Set in Regency-era England, All About Passion tells the story of Lady Rosalyn Loring and Neville Roscoe. Lady Rosalyn is a woman of strong convictions and has been determined to avoid marriage until she meets Neville at a ball.

Neville is a man of taste and refinement, but he’s also a notorious rake, known for his charm and rakish ways. However, when he meets Lady Rosalyn, he finds himself drawn in a way he never thought possible.

The novel offers a captivating love story between two likable and well-developed characters. Through their journey, Laurens explores themes of love, forgiveness, and redemption, all woven together into a story that is sure to keep readers hooked from beginning to end.

The pacing of the novel is excellent, with enough plot twists and conflicts to keep readers engaged without becoming overwhelming. One of the strengths of All About Passion is Laurens ability to create vivid and realistic characters.

Lady Rosalyn is a strong-willed and intelligent woman who knows her worth and is determined to make her own way in life. Neville, on the other hand, is a complex character who struggles with his past and is torn between his desires and his sense of responsibility.

Laurens does an excellent job of developing their characters throughout the novel and showing how they grow and change as they fall in love. Another strength of the novel is the vivid and rich historical setting.

Laurens clearly did her research and brings Regency England to life with her detailed descriptions of clothing, manners, and social customs. However, while the historical details are accurate, they don’t overwhelm the story or detract from the romance.

While the novel is a page-turner and an excellent example of the genre, it does have some flaws. One of the weaknesses of the story is that it can be predictable at times, and some of the plot twists are easily seen coming.

Additionally, while the characters are well-written, the dialogue can be overly dramatic at times and borders on trite. Overall, All About Passion is an engaging and well-written historical romance novel that is sure to appeal to fans of the genre.

Laurens ability to create well-rounded characters and vivid historical settings sets her apart as a top author in the field. While it’s not without its flaws, the book is an excellent example of its genre and is sure to delight readers looking for a captivating love story set in Regency-era England.

I would rate All About Passion 4 out of 5 stars.
