About the Author

Lorraine Heath has a passion for writing emotional love stories, which she attributes to her upbringing. Watching movies with her mother taught her that the best films are the ones that make you cry.

Lorraine was born in Watford, Hertfordshire, England, to a Texan father and a British mother who won second place in a Max Factor beauty contest and received a kiss from Caesar Romero, better known as the Joker on the original Batman TV series. She has a fondness for both heritages and often weaves them together in her stories.

After earning a BA in psychology from the University of Texas, Lorraine discovered that her studies provided her with a foundation for creating believable characters. Her characters are often described as “real people,” and she has been writing about them ever since.

Although she began her career writing training manuals and computer code for the IRS, she found that she was missing something important. When she read her first romance novel, she realized that her writing was lacking in rebels, scoundrels, and rogues.

Lorraine’s work has earned her numerous industry awards, including the prestigious RITA® from RWA. Her novels have consistently appeared on bestseller lists.

In addition to writing historical and contemporary romance for adults, she has written historical romance for teen readers under her own name. She also writes popular contemporary, historical, and paranormal romance for teens under the pen names Rachel Hawthorne and Jade Parker.

Finally, she collaborates with her son on young adult novels under the name J.A. London.

Editoral Review

Always to Remember by Lorraine Heath is a historical romance novel that was first published on February 1, 1996. Heath is an American author of historical romance and has written over sixty novels.

Her writing style is known for its emotional depth and the way it portrays love and relationships.

Set in the late 19th century, Always to Remember is a moving tale of two people from vastly different worlds who fall in love. The novel is set in London, England, and follows the story of a young woman named Molly who is struggling to cope with the loss of her mother.

She works as a maid in a wealthy household, where she meets a young man named William, who is the son of the family she works for. William is instantly drawn to Molly’s beauty and kind heart, and the two embark on a forbidden love affair.

The novel is set against the backdrop of the Victorian era, which was a time of great change in England. The themes of social class, love, loss, and family are woven throughout the story, making it a compelling read.

Heath’s writing is rich and descriptive, and she brings the setting and characters to life with her words.

The plot of Always to Remember is well-paced and keeps the reader engaged throughout. The characters are well-developed, and the dialogue is realistic and natural.

The conflicts that arise in the story are believable and add to the tension of the novel.

One of the strengths of the novel is the way Heath portrays the social issues of the time. The class divide between Molly and William is a central theme of the novel, and Heath handles it with sensitivity and nuance.

She also touches on other issues such as the treatment of women and the poor, making the novel historically significant.

While the novel is well-written and engaging, there are a few weaknesses. The ending feels a bit rushed, and some of the conflicts are resolved too easily.

Additionally, some of the characters feel underdeveloped, and their motivations are not always clear.

Overall, Always to Remember is a beautifully crafted historical romance novel that is well worth reading. It is a poignant tale of love and loss set against the backdrop of a changing society.

While it has its flaws, the strengths of the novel far outweigh them. It is a must-read for fans of historical romance, and anyone interested in the social issues of the Victorian era.
