About the Author
I’ve been writing stories for as long as I can remember, and no matter the plot, there’s always a hint of romance woven in. Creating unique characters and giving them happy endings is my passion, and I even enjoy the voices in my head that bring them to life.
Writing is truly the only career path for me.
In September of 2002, I received the call that every writer dreams of – Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior. It was a surreal moment and a dream come true.
I hope to continue living this dream until the day I pass away, fingers still typing away at my keyboard.
I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand, but I’ve also spent three years living and working in Japan. During that time, I took every opportunity to travel around Asia and explore new cultures.
Although I’m back in New Zealand now, I’m always planning my next adventure. If you’re interested, I update my Travel Diary page with snapshots from my trips every month.
Throughout my life, I’ve worked in various jobs, including lawyer, librarian, candy factory worker, bank temp, and English teacher. Some might see this as inconsistency, but I see it as inspiration for my writing.
Every experience, even the seemingly mundane ones, can serve as grist for the writer’s mill.
Editoral Review
Archangel’s Viper by Nalini Singh is an enthralling addition to the Guild Hunter series. Published on September 26, 2017, this paranormal romance novel explores the lives of the powerful angels ruling over the modern world and the humans they protect.
Singh, a New York Times bestselling author, is known for her addictive storytelling and vividly crafted worlds, making this book a highly anticipated release for fans of paranormal romance. In Archangel’s Viper, Singh introduces the reader to Venom, a deadly and enigmatic vampire who is tasked with transporting and protecting Holly Chang, also known as Sorrow, one of the few humans who survived a vicious angelic attack.
As they travel together in Venom’s sleek sports car, they confront their own hidden pasts and the growing attraction they feel towards each other. However, their journey is disrupted by an unknown force that threatens to destroy everything they hold dear.
The plot is engrossing and skillfully executed, with Singh’s signature style of blending suspense, romance, and intricate world-building. The novel takes place in a futuristic setting that is both fantastical and believable, with well-developed cultural and political structures that elevate the story beyond just a typical romance novel.
The characters are complex and dynamic, with Venom and Holly being particularly engaging. Singh carefully develops each character’s backstory and motivations, making it easy for the reader to empathize with their struggles and triumphs.
The chemistry between the two protagonists is palpable, making their romantic relationship feel natural and grounded. Singh’s writing style is fluid and engaging, with vivid descriptions and colorful dialogue.
The pacing is well-balanced, with enough action and tension to keep the reader invested from start to finish. The themes of redemption, forgiveness, and self-discovery are deftly woven into the narrative, giving the story an emotional depth that is rare in the genre.
While the book is highly enjoyable, it does have a few flaws. The plot can feel predictable at times, with some of the twists and turns feeling predictable.
Additionally, it may be difficult for readers new to the series to fully grasp the intricate world-building and political structures in the story. Overall, Archangel’s Viper is a highly recommended read for fans of paranormal romance, and it is easy to see why Nalini Singh is considered one of the best in the genre.
The book provides a thrilling and emotional journey that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. Readers looking for a well-written and satisfying romance novel will not be disappointed.
