Overview

“My name is Rylee, and I am a Tracker.” I’ve always been the one to bring lost children back to their families. But this time, the stakes are higher, and the journey is much more dangerous.

My newest mission takes me into the heart of enemy territory, a place where ogres lurk around every corner. Even with my backup, I know this won’t be an easy task.

As we trek deeper into the unknown, I can feel the tension rising, and I know that danger is imminent. Despite the odds, I still believe that we’ll come out on top.

But when things take a turn for the worse, I realize just how blind I’ve been to the true nature of this salvage. Will we make it out alive, or will this be the mission that finally breaks me?

About the Author

I was born into a family of Star Wars fans – my parents and siblings were all nuts about it. Being one of the younger children, I was subjected to Star Wars marathons on a regular basis.

As a homage to my upbringing, I often make references to the movies in my books. However, I didn’t want to grow up without believing in magic or creatures that others deemed imaginary.

Although I’ve never seen a fairy, unicorn, or dragon, I do have a neighbor who claims to have fed leprechauns in their garden.

I’m happily married to my husband, who is my rock, and we have a little boy who is the center of our world. Living on a farm keeps us busy and gives me plenty of stories to tell – from wrestling with cows to helping birth calves and ending up in the creek during the process.

In my free time, I’ve taken up archery and hope to move into horseback archery soon. I also enjoy baking, but it’s difficult to keep the sweet treats in stock with two boys in the house.

I have more stories constantly brewing inside my head, so I’ll keep sharing them with you. Whenever the fancy strikes, I jump on it and let my dreams carry me on their wings.

Editoral Review

In Blind Salvage, Shannon Mayer immerses readers in a thrilling urban fantasy world filled with magic, danger, and unexpected twists. Mayer, who has penned numerous popular fantasy series, including the Rylee Adamson series and the Venom Trilogy, showcases her unparalleled storytelling skills and vivid imagination in this unique and captivating novel.

The story follows Olivia Beaufont, a former member of a secret society of powerful magic-users known as the Council. After being betrayed by one of her fellow members, Olivia must navigate a dangerous new reality where she no longer has the protection of the Council.

Along the way, she encounters an array of fascinating characters, including the charming and mysterious Quinn Hale and the sinister yet charismatic leader of a rival organization, Gabriel Locke. As Olivia begins to uncover a web of deceit and corruption surrounding the magical world she once thought she knew, she must decide who to trust and where her own loyalties lie.

Mayer’s writing is enthralling and expertly paced, seamlessly blending action, romance, and intrigue. The novel’s complex plot is expertly crafted, keeping readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.

The characters are multi-dimensional and engaging, each with their own unique backstory and motivations. Mayer’s world-building is also top-notch, creating a vivid and immersive setting that feels both fantastical and believable.

Despite its many strengths, Blind Salvage does have a few minor flaws. At times, the storyline feels a bit convoluted, with multiple subplots and competing factions vying for attention.

Also, some of the character relationships feel rushed or underdeveloped, detracting from the emotional impact of certain events. Overall, Blind Salvage is a must-read for fans of urban fantasy and epic adventure.

It expertly toes the line between escapist fun and thought-provoking depth, offering a satisfying blend of action, suspense, and romance. Mayer’s expert writing and world-building skills shine through in every page, creating a truly memorable reading experience.
