Overview

Flint is a dangerous cyborg, the ultimate alpha male. He’s tall, gorgeous, and takes what he wants.

When he captures Mira, he claims her as his own and brands her with his mark. Mira is fascinated by Flint’s seductive appeal, and the sex between them is smoking hot.

But when she discovers that he’s contracted to a dozen other cyborg women, she realizes that she’s nothing more than a possession. Mira won’t stand for this – she belongs to no one, not even a man who has captured her heart.

As she struggles to understand if cyborgs can truly love, Mira makes trouble for Flint in her quest for independence.

About the Author

When I first wrote about myself, it was short and sweet. But after a few people asked me to elaborate, I decided to share a bit more.

So, here it goes! I spend my days as a full-time home supervisor, which is just a fancy way of saying that I’m a housewife. I’m happily married to my dream guy of 20 years, and together we have four children.

We reside in Southern California, and I can’t function without iced coffee. I’m a firm believer in romance, and I’ve always been a daydreamer.

Additionally, I’m a huge book fan, and have been for as long as I can remember.

Although I didn’t always know I wanted to write, I’ve always been an avid reader. As a child, I would devour entire series of books, such as Pippi Longstocking, Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, Trixie Belden, and The Borrowers, in just a matter of days.

By the age of nine, I had an adult library card and would visit often. Over time, I moved on to reading works by John Saul, Stephen King, Richard Laymon, and Agatha Christie.

Eventually, I discovered romance novels, and I was hooked. As a teenager, I wrote poetry, and then began writing short stories.

My first attempt at writing a book came after reading a truly terrible book that left me feeling frustrated. I thought to myself, “I could do better than this!”

In the early 90s, I wrote my first book, which will probably never see the light of day. From there, I wrote a few books in a series.

I’ve always been a fan of series! Over the years, I continued to write for fun and wrote MANY books. Then, in 2009, I decided to try to get published.

I wrote my first Sci Fi romance, and Ral’s Woman came to be. After a bit of tweaking, Ellorascave sent me an acceptance letter.

Getting published was a bit of a ‘Cinderella’ experience for me. It’s been a fantastic journey so far, and I’m thrilled that I finally have the time to commit to writing full time.

It’s truly a dream come true.

Editoral Review

Laurann Dohner’s Burning Up Flint is a scorching hot romance novel that will leave readers breathless. With its thrilling plot, complex characters, and steamy love scenes, this book is sure to satisfy fans of the romance genre.

The story takes place in a world where some humans possess special abilities. The main character, Mona Lisa, is a hybrid – half human and half feline – with the ability to manipulate fire.

She is a fiery, independent woman who values her freedom above all else. When she meets Flint, a hunky shifter who is assigned to protect her, she can’t help but be drawn to him.

Despite their initial attraction, Mona Lisa is hesitant to let Flint get too close. However, as danger looms, she begins to see that he may be the only person she can trust to keep her safe.

Dohner is a master at creating vivid, three-dimensional characters. Mona Lisa is a fierce and complex protagonist, who struggles with issues of trust and identity.

Flint is equally compelling, with his protectiveness, loyalty, and sensitivity. The chemistry between the two is off the charts, and the love scenes are steamy and passionate.

The plot is fast-paced and action-packed, with plenty of twists and turns to keep readers on the edge of their seats. There are plenty of thrilling fight scenes and heart-pumping moments of danger, as well as moments of poignant emotional intensity.

The setting – a future world where humans coexist with supernatural beings – is well-developed, with plenty of interesting details that offer a glimpse into the history and culture of this fascinating world. One of the book’s strengths is its exploration of trust and betrayal, as well as identity and belonging.

These are themes that are particularly relevant in today’s world, and Dohner handles them with sensitivity and nuance. The characters’ struggles with these issues are relatable and poignant, and add depth to the story.

Overall, Burning Up Flint is a fantastic example of the romance genre. Dohner’s prose is engaging and well-crafted, and the story is thrilling, emotional, and satisfying.

Fans of romance, particularly those who enjoy paranormal and fantasy elements, will find much to love in this book. It is a must-read for anyone looking for a steamy, exciting, and emotionally resonant story.

4.5/5 stars.
