About the Author

I’ve got some information on an accomplished author who goes by a few different names. This author has worked with Katherine Applegate on a number of popular book series, including Ocean City, Making Out, Summer, Animorphs, Everworld, Remnants, Eve and Adam.

Additionally, they’ve written TV spin-off books for Christy, Sweet Valley Twins, and Girl Talk, as well as various Disney spin-offs.

Under one of their pseudonyms, this author even wrote a book called Barf-O-Rama. But that’s not all – they’ve also penned several other novels, such as Gone, BZRK, The Magnificent 12, Messenger of Fear, Front Lines, Monster, and A Sudden Death in Cyprus.

Interestingly, this author also goes by the name Michael Robinson and writes restaurant reviews and newspaper features. And under their legal name, Michael Reynolds, they work as a political media producer on Team Blue.

Quite the accomplished and multi-talented individual!

Editoral Review

BZRK by Michael Grant is a gripping science fiction novel that explores the dangerous world of nanotechnology and the power of the human mind. Grant, known for his best-selling young adult series GONE, delivers another thrilling read in this first installment of the BZRK trilogy.

Published in 2012, the book presents a unique blend of modern technology, conspiracy theories, and political intrigue that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. The story takes place in the near future where two powerful secret factions, BZRK and Armstrong Fancy Gifts Corporation, are in a struggle for global dominance.

BZRK, a group of rogue hackers and renegade politicians, fights to protect the free will of humanity, while Armstrong Fancy Gifts Corporation seeks to control the minds of the masses using advanced nanobots. The main characters are a group of BZRK operatives, including the charismatic Vincent, the talented hacker Nijinsky, and the troubled twins Sadie and Noah.

As they delve deeper into the world of nanotechnology, they discover the horrifying truth behind Armstrong’s ultimate plan and must risk everything to stop it. Grant masterfully develops his characters throughout the book, revealing their motivations, fears, and inner demons.

He creates a vivid setting of a dystopian world where the line between reality and the virtual world becomes increasingly blurry. The pace of the book is fast-paced, with numerous twists and turns, making it difficult to put down.

Despite its strengths, BZRK has some weaknesses. The plot can be confusing at times, with various subplots and a large cast of characters.

The use of scientific jargon may also be intimidating for some readers. However, these limitations are offset by the book’s overall quality of writing, which blends action with philosophical and ethical questions.

BZRK stands out in the science fiction genre with its unique take on nanotechnology and the human mind. The book addresses issues of free will, control, and the ethical implications of advanced technology in a world that is becoming increasingly digitized.

Fans of Michael Grant’s GONE series and other science fiction works like Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card may find the book to their liking. Overall, BZRK by Michael Grant is an exciting and thought-provoking read that will appeal to young and adult readers alike.

It challenges readers to question the role of technology and power in shaping human lives, and the consequences of failing to uphold individual freedom. The book gets an A- rating from us for its immersive plot, well-developed characters, and insightful critique of contemporary society.
