About the Author

J.A. Huss never envisioned herself as a writer. In fact, her dream job was to be an astronaut.

Initially, she pursued a career in equine veterinary science, but the demanding hours led her to switch gears and pursue a graduate degree. Despite earning her Ph.D., her scientific career was not fulfilling, and she ultimately dropped out to earn a master’s degree in forensic toxicology.

After graduation, J.A. Huss accepted a position with the state of Colorado as their sole hog farm inspector. Her job required her to travel through the Eastern Plains, chatting with farmers.

After a few years, she became burnt out and decided to utilize her passion for science to write science textbooks and create online classes for homeschool mothers. She created over 200 workbooks and became the top publisher on the online homeschool store.

However, after exhausting every science topic, she decided to try her hand at fiction writing in 2012.

In that year, J.A. Huss released her first three books, which propelled her to become a New York Times bestseller and earn a spot on the USA Today Bestseller’s List 18 times over the next three years. Her books have been sold worldwide, and her audiobooks have been nominated for numerous awards.

She now collaborates with her first and only writing partner, Johnathan McClain.

J.A. Huss currently resides on a ranch in Central Colorado with her family.
