Overview

Separated from her friends at Shadow Falls, Kylie finally discovers the extent of her supernatural gifts and the community of chameleons she belongs to. But this community, more accustomed to hiding than fighting, finds itself powerless against the return of Mario, her fiercest and most evil adversary.

With nowhere to turn, Kylie has only one solution: to return to camp to find allies. There, she will also have to make a final choice between the two men she loves.

The werewolf who broke her heart by choosing his pack over her, but who is now willing to do anything to win her back? Or the half-Fae who has sometimes been troubled by the intensity of their attraction, but who has always been there for her?

One thing is certain: nothing will ever be the same again.

Editoral Review

In Crépuscule by C.C. Hunter, readers are transported to a world of supernatural beings and high school drama. Hunter, known for her popular Shadow Falls series, delivers another fast-paced and engaging story that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Set in a small town in Texas, Crépuscule follows the story of sixteen-year-old Della Tsang, a vampire who attends Shadow Falls Academy, a school for supernatural beings. Della is a strong and independent character who is struggling to come to terms with her vampire nature while also dealing with her human emotions.

When a new warlock student arrives at the school, Della is drawn to him despite her initial reservations. Hunter’s writing style is vivid and descriptive, helping readers to imagine the supernatural world in which the story is set.

The plot is well-developed and filled with twists and turns that keep the reader engaged throughout. The characters are well-rounded and relatable, with realistic flaws and struggles.

Hunter does an excellent job of creating a diverse cast of characters, each with their own unique backstory and personalities. One of the strengths of Crépuscule is its exploration of themes such as identity, family, and acceptance.

While the story is set in a world of supernatural beings, the themes are universal and will resonate with readers of all ages. Hunter also tackles issues such as mental health and addiction in a sensitive and thoughtful way.

Despite its many strengths, Crépuscule does have some limitations. The pacing is at times slow, and the romance between Della and the warlock could have been developed further.

Additionally, while the novel does address important social issues, some readers may find the messages heavy-handed. Overall, Crépuscule is a well-written and engaging novel that will appeal to fans of young adult supernatural fiction.

It is a strong addition to C.C. Hunter’s literary repertoire and a testament to her skillful storytelling. I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy stories about supernatural beings, high school drama, and coming-of-age struggles.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
