Editoral Review

Deceived by Irene Hannon is an exciting addition to the romantic suspense genre that was first published on September 30, 2014. Hannon, an award-winning author, is known for her ability to craft engaging stories that are both thrilling and poignant.

The novel revolves around Kate Marshall, a successful business owner who finds herself in the crosshairs of a dangerous criminal after being mistaken for someone else. As Kate struggles to prove her innocence, she must also confront her complicated feelings for Detective Connor Wolfe, who is leading the investigation.

Hannon expertly weaves together a complex web of intrigue and deceit, pulling readers into a world of high-stakes action and heart-pumping suspense. The characters are well-drawn and multi-dimensional, with Kate and Connor’s chemistry sizzling off the page.

The author also explores important themes related to identity, forgiveness, and redemption, making this more than just a thrilling whodunit. While the book is set in a fictional world, Hannon deftly draws parallels to real-life issues such as human trafficking and the criminal underworld.

The writing is polished and elegant, with each scene crafted with care and attention to detail. The pacing is spot-on, with tension building steadily throughout until the final explosive climax.

Overall, Deceived is a strong entry in the genre that will satisfy both romance and thriller fans alike. That being said, the book does have some weaknesses.

Some of the plot twists are a bit predictable, and the supporting characters lack depth at times. Additionally, the romance between Kate and Connor can be a bit clichéd and overly-dramatic.

Despite these flaws, Deceived is still a thrilling page-turner that will keep readers engaged from beginning to end. For fans of romantic suspense, this book is a must-read.

It receives a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
