But when they both end up playing for the same NHL team, things get complicated. The sexual tension between them is undeniable, but they’re both afraid to risk ruining their friendship.

Then, a team bonding trip to a secluded cabin changes everything. The desire and lust they’ve been suppressing finally boil over.

Mason is a player both on and off the ice, while Riley is a dedicated athlete focused solely on hockey. They both know a relationship would be a distraction, but they can’t resist each other.

Editoral Review

Faceoff by Kelly Jamieson is a riveting sports romance novel that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Jamieson is a prolific author in the genre, having written multiple romance novels, and her experience and expertise are evident in the impressive execution of this story.

The book follows the story of Braden Long, an up-and-coming hockey player destined for greatness. Braden finds himself in a tough situation when he is traded to a new team and is forced to navigate the treacherous waters of a tense locker room dynamic.

Along the way, he meets Gabby, the teams publicist who proves to be an integral part of his life on and off the ice. Jamiesons writing style is impeccable, with each sentence crafted with care and precision.

The attention to detail in the description of the hockey games and the characters emotions is particularly impressive, creating a fully immersive reading experience for the audience. The plot structure is well thought-out, with each plot point expertly developed and resolved in a satisfying way.

The character development in Faceoff is another strength of the book. Braden and Gabby are complex, multi-dimensional characters that readers will be invested in from start to finish.

Their development is natural, with each decision and action grounded in the individual characters motivations and personalities. While Jamiesons attention to detail is excellent, the pacing of the plot could have been slightly faster.

The story occasionally slows down, particularly in the middle sections, but this is a minor flaw in an otherwise exceptional book. Overall, Faceoff is a must-read for fans of the romance and sports genres.

Jamiesons writing is beautiful, and her character development is superb. Anyone looking for an engaging, emotional read will not be disappointed.

Rating: 4.5/5 stars.
