About the Author

AJ is a Perth native and grew up as the third of six siblings. Her parents, who have been married for almost 55 years, were her first source of inspiration for romance, and she still looks up to them as a model for her own marriage and parenting skills.

As a young adult, AJ fell in love with the works of Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, and Georgette Heyer. She has since expanded her list of favorite authors to include both historical and contemporary writers.

Although she wishes she had more time to read, her busy family life and her own writing keep her occupied. She still manages to keep a book on her nightstand, though.

Cooking is one of AJ’s favorite pastimes, and she enjoys watching The Next Iron Chef on Food Network. She also loves to travel, with the UK and the Caribbean being her preferred destinations.

AJ and her husband have been married for 28 years and currently reside on the west coast of the USA. They have two grown children and recently welcomed a new addition to their family: a rescued puppy named Max from the local humane society.

As empty-nesters, they enjoy spending time together and making the most of their free time.

Editoral Review

First Class to New York by A.J. Harmon is a contemporary romance novel that was first published on November 17, 2012. The author is known for her engaging storytelling and relatable characters, and this book is no exception.

The novel is set in the present day and explores the themes of love, family, and ambition.

The story follows the lives of two main characters, Emily and Dylan. Emily is a successful businesswoman who has recently moved to New York City to start a new chapter in her life.

Dylan, on the other hand, is a struggling musician who dreams of making it big in the music industry. When the two meet on a flight to New York, they are immediately drawn to each other, and a romance begins to blossom.

As the story unfolds, the reader is taken on a journey through the ups and downs of Emily and Dylan’s relationship, as well as the challenges they face in their personal and professional lives. Along the way, the author explores important themes such as family dynamics, the pursuit of success, and the power of love.

One of the strengths of this novel is the author’s ability to create fully realized characters that readers can relate to. Emily and Dylan are both complex and well-developed, with their own unique struggles and motivations.

The author also does an excellent job of pacing the story, keeping the reader engaged from beginning to end.

While the book is primarily a romance novel, it also touches on some important social issues, such as the challenges faced by women in the workplace and the pressure to succeed in a competitive society. These themes give the book a deeper significance and make it more than just a simple love story.

Despite its strengths, the book does have some limitations. The plot is somewhat predictable at times, and the ending feels a bit rushed.

Additionally, some of the secondary characters could have been developed more fully.

Overall, First Class to New York is an enjoyable and engaging read that will appeal to fans of contemporary romance novels. It is well-written and explores important themes in a thoughtful and nuanced way.

While it may not be a groundbreaking work of literature, it is still a solid addition to the genre.

For those who are looking for a light and entertaining read, this book is definitely worth checking out. It is a perfect choice for anyone who enjoys romance novels with relatable characters and a well-crafted plot.

Based on my overall impression of the book, I would give it a rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars.
