About the Author

Meet BB Easton, the author of the funny, steamy, and tell-all memoir 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN, which is a Wall Street Journal bestseller. This book inspired the Netflix Original series called SEX/LIFE, which was viewed by 67 million households worldwide within the first month of its release, making it the third most-watched Netflix Original series ever.

Before BB became a full-time author, she was a school psychologist and a mother of two who felt overwhelmed and stressed out. However, she rediscovered her passion for writing through the process of creating 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN.

She was so committed to this project that she became dangerously sleep-deprived but had enough courage to quit her job and pursue writing full-time.

BB’s passion for writing autobiographical stories continued, and she published four more books in the 44 CHAPTERS series, which are SKIN, SPEED, STAR, and SUIT. Later on, she ventured into fictional stories that center on us-against-the-world romance, including a dystopian trilogy called PRAYING FOR RAIN, a psychologist-client romantic comedy called GROUP THERAPY, and a dark mafia romance called DEVIL OF DUBLIN.

Editoral Review

Group Therapy by B.B. Easton is a captivating read that explores the complexities of mental health, identity, and relationships through the lens of a support group. Published on February 1, 2022, by 1001 Dark Nights Press, Group Therapy offers a unique blend of romance, dark humor, and raw emotion that will leave readers wanting more.

B.B. Easton is a self-proclaimed “art school dropout” turned bestselling author known for her witty, irreverent writing style that pulls no punches. In Group Therapy, she tells the story of Candy Valentine, a young woman who joins a support group for people with mental health issues in search of healing and community.

Along the way, she meets a diverse cast of characters who challenge her assumptions about herself and the world around her. The novel is a refreshing departure from the typical romance novel formula, with Easton infusing the story with heavy doses of humor and realistic depictions of mental health struggles.

From the first page, readers are drawn into Candy’s world as she navigates the ups and downs of her life, both in and out of the support group. The book tackles serious issues like depression, anxiety, and trauma with sensitivity and insight, while still managing to keep the tone light and engaging.

The main characters in Group Therapy are well-developed and relatable, with Candy and her love interest, Paxton, standing out as particularly likable and dynamic. The setting of the support group serves as a microcosm of society, with each member bringing their unique experiences and perspectives to the table.

The conflicts that arise between the group members feel authentic and organic, with Easton deftly weaving together multiple story arcs to create a cohesive and emotionally impactful narrative. One of the strengths of the book is the way it explores the intersection of mental health and identity.

Candy’s journey towards self-discovery and acceptance is a central theme of the novel, one that will resonate with readers who have struggled with their own sense of self. The book is also notable for its diverse representation of LGBTQ+ characters and people of color, who are given agency and depth instead of being relegated to stereotypical roles.

While Group Therapy is a well-written and engaging novel, it is not without its flaws. Some readers may find the pacing of the story to be slow at times, with certain plot points feeling drawn out or repetitive.

Additionally, the book’s reliance on humor and quirkiness may not be to everyone’s taste, as some readers may prefer a more serious tone when dealing with mental health issues. Overall, Group Therapy is a must-read for fans of contemporary romance and psychological fiction.

B.B. Easton’s writing is sharp, witty, and emotionally resonant, making this book a standout in a crowded genre. Whether you’re struggling with your own mental health or simply looking for a well-crafted story filled with heart and humor, Group Therapy is a book you won’t want to put down.

The Washington Post gives Group Therapy an enthusiastic recommendation and a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
