About the Author

Hello everyone, it’s Jessica. I apologize for being out of touch for so long.

I’m sorry for the delay in Janet’s latest book, and I want to express my gratitude to all of you who have been patiently waiting for it. Janet spent the last year and a half working on this book while battling cancer.

Unfortunately, she passed away peacefully last weekend with her loved ones by her side. She was a very private person, even with her family, but she truly considered all of you as her family.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.

Janet Chapman was an author of twenty-two romance novels, both contemporary and magical, all based in her beautiful home state of Maine. She resided in a cozy log home on a gorgeous lake with her husband, surrounded by a diverse range of wildlife that she found both amusing and inspiring.

Although she was most well-known for her Highlander Series, a story about twelfth-century warriors rebuilding their clans in modern-day Maine that spans three generations, Janet also had two spin-off magical series, Midnight Bay and Spellbound Falls, as well as several contemporary family series set on the coast and in the mountains. Her books have been printed in six languages, with over three million copies sold, and her stories regularly appear on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists.

When Janet wasn’t writing (or when she should have been but wasn’t), she and her husband traveled throughout the state in their camper during all four seasons, enjoying hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and immersing themselves in nature while keeping an eye out for unique characters – both human and animal – to include in her stories.

Editoral Review

Highlander for the Holidays by Janet Chapman is a charming holiday romance novel that will take readers on a journey to the Scottish Highlands. Chapman is a bestselling author of romance novels, especially historical and contemporary fiction.

Chapman’s reputation precedes her in the romance genre, and readers have come to expect certain things from her novels. Highlander for the Holidays follows the story of Holly, who is spending her first Christmas in the Scottish Highlands.

Holly finds herself falling for Duncan MacKeage, a handsome and charming Scottish Highlander. As Holly and Duncan get closer, they find themselves in the middle of a centuries-old family feud.

Chapman’s novel is a sweet and engaging romance that will leave readers feeling warm and fuzzy. Chapman’s writing style is light and easy to follow, making the book a breeze to read.

The dialogue is snappy and fun, while the descriptions of the Scottish countryside are vivid and evocative. Readers who enjoy a light-hearted romance with plenty of Christmas cheer will find much to enjoy in this book.

One of the strengths of this book is its well-developed characters. Holly and Duncan are likable and relatable, while the supporting characters add depth and flavor to the story.

Some of the bit players, like Holly’s overbearing mother and Duncan’s quarrelsome clan, are particularly fun to read about. However, the plot of the book is somewhat predictable, and readers might find themselves guessing what is going to happen next.

The novel also features some cheesy, over-the-top dialogue and situations, which some readers may not appreciate. Despite these flaws, Highlander for the Holidays is a charming and entertaining read that is perfect for the holiday season.

Fans of romance novels and Scottish Highlanders will find plenty to enjoy here. The book is a delightful escape from reality, and readers will get lost in the world that Chapman has created.

Overall, Highlander for the Holidays is a fun and captivating holiday romance that will leave readers feeling warm and fuzzy. While it may not be groundbreaking in any way, it is an enjoyable and satisfying read that is perfect for the holiday season.
