About the Author

Have you ever read a book and wondered about the person behind it? I certainly have.

When I check out an author’s bio, it’s usually because I liked their work and want to learn more about them. So, let me tell you about Roxanne St. Claire, or as everyone calls her, Rocki.

Rocki grew up in Pittsburgh, PA as the youngest of five siblings. She fell in love with words and stories after reading Gone With The Wind during one summer.

For her twelfth birthday, her parents gifted her a typewriter, and she has been writing love stories for fun ever since. Her AP English teacher gave her two valuable pieces of advice: verbs are the key to life, and a writer should get a real job.

After graduating from UCLA with a degree in communications, Rocki tried acting and television broadcasting but eventually changed her last name from Zink to St. Claire because someone told her Roxanne Zink had too many harsh consonants for a TV personality. She then climbed the corporate ladder up to the level of Senior Vice President at the world’s largest public relations firm.

While working in PR, Rocki met the man of her dreams, and they got married two years later. They moved to Miami, had a few children, lost their home in a hurricane, and built another one a few hours north.

Throughout it all, Rocki kept writing her “stories” for fun. One night after reading Nobody’s Baby But Mine by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, she decided to pursue writing full-time.

With two small children and a “real” job, writing her first novel wasn’t easy, but she finished a manuscript that caught the attention of a literary agent. The agent’s advice was simple: write another book.

That second manuscript sold to Simon & Schuster’s Pocket Books and was released in 2003 as Tropical Getaway. Since then, Rocki has written almost thirty more novels in multiple genres and has become a full-time novelist.

Today, Rocki lives in a small beach community in Florida with her husband and two dogs. Her children are off to college and law school, which means her nest is empty.

She spends her time writing, working with the kids at her church, enjoying her husband’s gourmet cooking, and hanging out with her writer friends. Rocki loves to read and hopes to write at least a hundred books in her lifetime.

Her favorite verbs? Love, work, and believe.

Editoral Review

Roxanne St. Claire’s “Kill Me Twice” is a thrilling mystery novel that will have readers on the edge of their seats until the very end. St. Claire is a renowned author in the romance and suspense genre, and this book is a perfect example of her expertise in both.

The story is set in the small town of Barefoot Bay, where Samantha Shaw, a private investigator, is hired by a woman to investigate her husband’s disappearance. As the case unfolds, Samantha uncovers a web of lies, deceit, and corruption, that puts her own life in danger.

Along the way, she encounters a cast of intriguing characters, including a handsome cop, a dangerous gang member, and a seductive attorney. St. Claire’s writing is masterful, with a keen eye for detail and a vivid depiction of the town’s atmosphere.

The characters are well-developed, each with their own unique quirks and flaws, and the dialogue is sharp and witty. The pacing is perfect, with just enough action and suspense to keep the reader hooked but also enough downtime for the characters to develop and for the story to breathe.

One of the novel’s strengths is its ability to address contemporary issues, such as corruption, domestic abuse, and drug trafficking, while still maintaining an engaging and exciting plot. The themes of loyalty, trust, and redemption are also prevalent throughout the book, adding depth and meaning to the story.

While there are no major flaws in the book, some readers might find the plot twists and turns to be predictable at times. However, St. Claire’s writing is so engaging that this is a minor criticism.

“Kill Me Twice” is a must-read for fans of mystery and suspense novels. It is a well-crafted, entertaining work of fiction that will keep readers invested in the story until the very end.

It is a great introduction to St. Claire’s work, and fans of her other books will not be disappointed. The Washington Post highly recommends this book to anyone looking for a thrilling ride.

We give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.
