About the Author

Lorraine Heath is a writer who has a passion for emotional love stories, a love that was instilled in her from a young age by her mother who believed that the best movies were the ones that made you cry. Her mother was a British beauty who won second place in a beauty contest sponsored by Max Factor® where she received a kiss from Caesar Romero, known for playing the Joker in the original Batman TV series.

Her father was Texan and was stationed at Bovingdon while serving in the air force. Lorraine was born in Watford, Hertfordshire, England, but grew up in Texas.

Having a dual nationality has allowed Lorraine to have a love for both British and Texan cultures, and she enjoys incorporating both of them into her stories. She received a BA degree in psychology from the University of Texas which gave her a foundation for creating realistic and believable characters.

Her characters are often described as “real people” because of the depth and complexity that she gives them.

Before becoming a successful writer, Lorraine wrote training manuals and computer code for the IRS. However, she quickly realized that her writing was missing something.

She read a romance novel and became hooked on the genre, realizing that her writing needed more rebels, scoundrels, and rogues. Thus, she began writing about them and has been doing so ever since.

Lorraine has received many industry awards including RWA’s RITA® and her novels have appeared on bestseller lists. She has written over 60 novels, including historical and contemporary romance for adults and historical romance for teen readers.

Editoral Review

Lord of Wicked Intentions by Lorraine Heath is a historical romance novel that was first published on April 30, 2013. The author is known for her compelling storytelling and vivid characters, making this novel a must-read for fans of the genre.

Set in 19th century London, Lord of Wicked Intentions follows the story of William Graves, the Marquess of Locksley, as he navigates the treacherous waters of high society. William has been dubbed the “Lord of Wicked Intentions” due to his reputation as a womanizer, but beneath the surface lies a complicated and tormented man.

When he meets a young widow named Lady Isabel Townsend, his world is turned upside down. Isabel is unlike any woman he has ever known, and he finds himself wanting to be a better man for her.

But their relationship is forbidden, and William must decide if he is willing to risk everything for love. Heath has expertly crafted a tale of passion, scandal, and redemption that will leave readers swooning.

The chemistry between William and Isabel is palpable, and their individual struggles add depth and complexity to the story. The setting is richly drawn, immersing the reader in the opulence and decadence of the Regency era.

One of the strengths of this novel is Heath’s ability to delve into the dark underbelly of London society. She does not shy away from the harsh realities of poverty, prostitution, and violence that existed during this time period.

This adds a layer of authenticity to the story and highlights the stark contrast between the haves and have-nots. The writing is polished and sophisticated, with just the right amount of wit and charm.

The pacing is spot-on, with enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged from start to finish. Heath also expertly weaves in themes of forgiveness, redemption, and the transformative power of love.

However, there are some limitations to this novel. While the main characters are well-rounded and fully-realized, some of the secondary characters feel underdeveloped.

Additionally, the climax of the story feels rushed and somewhat anti-climactic. Despite these minor flaws, Lord of Wicked Intentions is a must-read for fans of historical romance.

Lorraine Heath’s elegant prose and memorable characters will linger long after the final page. The novel is a testament to the enduring power of love, even in the face of societal conventions and personal demons.

Overall, this novel deserves a 4 out of 5-star rating. It is a well-crafted and engaging story that will appeal to a wide range of readers.

Whether you are a fan of the genre or simply looking for a captivating romance, Lord of Wicked Intentions is not to be missed.
