Editoral Review

Lucky Number Four is Amanda Jason’s debut novel and was first published on January 4, 2014. The book is a suspenseful thriller that explores themes of revenge, redemption, and love.

Told from various perspectives, Lucky Number Four is the story of four friends who find themselves bound by a dark secret that they have kept buried for years.

At the center of the novel is protagonist, Sofia, a brilliant and ambitious lawyer who gets drawn into a dangerous game of cat and mouse when she investigates a series of grisly murders that are linked to her past.

Alongside Sofia are her childhood friends, Jake, Carly, and Keith, who must confront their own demons and come to terms with the consequences of their actions.

Jason’s writing style is crisp and engaging, and she has a knack for creating tension and suspense throughout the novel’s twists and turns.

Her descriptions of the settings and characters are vivid, and the pacing is excellent, with each chapter ending on a cliffhanger that keeps readers turning pages.

One of the strengths of Lucky Number Four is the depth of character development.

Each of the four main characters is flawed and complex, with their own motives and desires. Jason explores issues such as privilege, power, and loyalty, and the consequences of choices made in the past.

However, at times, some of the characters actions feel contrived, and their motivations are not always clear. Additionally, some of the plot elements are predictable, which could disappoint fans of the genre.

Despite its flaws, Lucky Number Four is an entertaining and gripping read that will keep readers engaged until the end. It is a well-written and thoughtful book that explores the darker side of human nature.

The novel is notable for its cultural significance in that it explores privilege, power dynamics within friendships, and the consequences of poor decision-making. In this way, it is an excellent book for readers who are interested in current events and social issues.

Overall, I would recommend Lucky Number Four to fans of suspenseful thrillers who enjoy tales of redemption, revenge, and romance. Amanda Jason is a promising new author who shows a lot of potential, and I look forward to seeing what she does next.

I would give this book an 8/10, as it is an above-average thriller with a lot of heart and well-drawn characters.
