About the Author

Katie MacAlister has been an avid reader for as long as she can remember. Her family’s weekly trips to the library instilled a love of books in her from a young age, and she spent much of her time with her nose buried in a novel.

It wasn’t until Katie was contracted to write a non-fiction book about software that she considered writing fiction. Her editor didn’t allow her to include any witty dialogue or love scenes in the software book, so Katie swiftly switched to writing novels where she could indulge in world building, tormenting characters, and falling madly in love with all her heroes.

Two years after she started writing, Katie sold her first romance, Noble Intentions. She went on to write more than thirty books, which were translated into numerous languages, recorded as audiobooks, and received several awards.

Her novels have also been featured on the New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists. Katie writes for young adults as Katie Maxwell and for the mystery genre as Kate Marsh.

Katie lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and dogs. She enjoys spending time online and can often be found in discussion forums or social media groups.

Editoral Review

Katie MacAlister is a prolific author of romance and fantasy novels. Her book, Me and My Shadow, was first published on November 3, 2009, and falls under the paranormal romance genre.

The novel follows the story of May Northcott, a woman with a unique ability to control shadows. She is joined by Gabriel Tauhou, a demon hunter with his own set of supernatural abilities.

The two protagonists are brought together to solve a mystery that involves the supernatural world and their own pasts.

MacAlister’s writing style is engaging and witty, with a touch of humor that makes the story enjoyable to read. The plot is well-constructed, with enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged.

The characters are well-developed, with unique personalities that complement each other. The setting is vividly described and adds to the overall atmosphere of the story.

The novel addresses themes of love, trust, betrayal, and redemption. The concept of controlling shadows is an interesting one, and MacAlister does a great job of exploring the possibilities of this ability.

The supernatural elements of the story are seamlessly integrated into the plot and add to the overall intrigue and suspense.

One of the strengths of Me and My Shadow is the chemistry between the two main characters. MacAlister does an excellent job of building up their relationship throughout the novel, and the romantic tension between them is palpable.

The dialogue between the characters is witty and entertaining, which adds to the overall charm of the novel.

However, the novel does have some flaws. The pacing of the story is slow at times, and some parts of the plot feel contrived.

Additionally, the secondary characters are not as well-developed as the main characters, which makes it difficult to care about their fates.

Overall, Me and My Shadow is an enjoyable read for fans of paranormal romance. The writing is engaging, the characters are well-developed, and the plot is intriguing.

While the novel has some flaws, it is still a solid addition to MacAlister’s body of work.

I would recommend this book to fans of paranormal romance who are looking for a fun and engaging read. The novel is perfect for those who enjoy a mix of romance, supernatural elements, and mystery.

I would give Me and My Shadow a rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars.
