Overview

In Sunny’s spellbinding Mona Lisa Awakening, passion, danger, and desire lurk in the shadows. Ever since Mona Lisa was a child, she knew she was different.

But it wasn’t until a man of otherworldly beauty appeared during her night shift at the hospital that she discovered just how different she truly was. Gryphon is a Monère, a child of the moon, and he’s in trouble.

Mona Lisa is drawn to him like no other man before, and for good reason. She too is a Monère, one of the first Mixed Bloods ever known.

As she navigates the treacherous landscape of the Monère’s nighttime court, Mona Lisa must come to terms with her growing power and secret desires, while also fending off threats from within and without. Sunny’s tantalizing debut novel will leave you breathless and begging for more.

About the Author

Sunny is a family practice physician and a Vassar graduate. Despite being hesitant at first, she eventually decided to pick up a pen and try her hand at writing, inspired by the success of her family members.

To her surprise, she found that she had a knack for it and enjoyed it much more than practicing medicine.

Since becoming an author, Sunny has been featured on popular television shows like Geraldo at Large and CNBC, and has won numerous awards, including the prestigious PRISM Award. When she’s not working on her own writing, she spends her time editing her husband’s books – Da Chen, a literary novelist – and supporting her young son’s acting career as a proud stage mom.

Editoral Review

Mona Lisa Awakening by Sunny is a novel that blends romance, fantasy, and art history into a mesmerizing story. Sunny is a certified paranormal romance author who has won numerous awards for her work.

In 2002, she published Mona Lisa Awakening, the first book in her Mona Lisa series. Mona Lisa Awakening takes place in modern-day Louisiana and features Mona Lisa, a woman who discovers she is a special hybrid creature.

Mona Lisa works as a talent agent for vampires and werewolves, but she is more than just a human. She is a shape-shifter with the ability to transform into various animals.

Mona Lisa’s life takes an unexpected turn when she meets an ancient vampire named Dante. Sunny’s writing style is engaging and fluid.

She seamlessly weaves together romance, suspense, and supernatural elements to create a captivating story. Readers will be drawn into the world of Mona Lisa, and the vivid descriptions of Louisiana’s rich history and culture will transport them to another time and place.

The character development in Mona Lisa Awakening is impressive. Sunny has created complex characters with rich backstories that are revealed throughout the novel.

Mona Lisa is a strong, independent woman who is not afraid to stand up for herself. Dante is an enigmatic figure with a tragic past, and the chemistry between him and Mona Lisa is palpable.

The supporting characters are equally intriguing, and they all add depth to the story. One of the strengths of Mona Lisa Awakening is its unique blend of art history and fantasy elements.

Sunny has created a world where famous works of art are living beings, and Mona Lisa is one of them. Sunny’s attention to detail when describing the paintings is impressive, and readers will appreciate how she incorporates them into the story.

However, there are some weaknesses to the book. The plot can be predictable at times, and some of the supporting characters feel underdeveloped.

Additionally, some readers may find the romance between Mona Lisa and Dante to be overly formulaic. Overall, Mona Lisa Awakening is a well-crafted and engaging novel that will appeal to fans of paranormal romance, art history, and fantasy.

Although it has some flaws, Sunny’s storytelling abilities and intricate world-building make this a worthwhile read. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a page-turner that will transport them to another world.
