Editoral Review

Never Tell, written by Alafair Burke, is a gripping thriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very end. Burke, known for her skillful storytelling, creates a haunting tale filled with twists and turns that will leave readers guessing until the very end.

Published on June 19, 2012, this book shows that Burke is at the top of her game. The book follows the story of Detective Ellie Hatcher, who is tasked with solving a mysterious death at a crowded Manhattan subway station.

However, as she delves deeper into the investigation, she discovers that the case is much more complex than she initially thought. With each page turned, the plot thickens, and the reader is left wondering who can be trusted.

Burke’s writing style is clear and concise, with a focus on detail and authenticity. Her characters are well-crafted, with layered personalities and realistic backstories.

In Never Tell, Burke expertly weaves together various subplots to create a multi-dimensional story that keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. One of the strengths of Never Tell is its ability to tackle relevant social issues.

The story highlights the difficulties faced by police officers in a society where public opinion can be fickle, and justice is often blurred by political agendas. Additionally, the book addresses the consequences of stigmatizing mental illness and the impact it can have on our communities.

Though the book is a thrilling read, it is not without flaws. At times, the plot can become convoluted, and it can be a challenge to keep track of all the characters and their various storylines.

However, this is a minor issue, and the book remains a page-turner throughout. Overall, Never Tell is an excellent book that will appeal to fans of the thriller genre.

It has all the requisite elements: complex characters, a twisting plot, and a satisfying ending. However, it goes beyond the typical thriller by addressing important social issues that are relevant today.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an engaging and thought-provoking read. Rating: 4.5 stars.

This book was a thrilling ride and a well-crafted story, which makes it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a good thriller. The occasional plot convolutions do not detract significantly from its overall strengths.
