About the Author

J.A. Huss never planned to become a writer. In fact, her dream career was to be an astronaut.

She initially pursued a degree in equine veterinary medicine, but quickly realized that the demanding schedule wasn’t for her. Instead, she earned a Ph.D. but found that she didn’t enjoy being a scientist.

After dropping out, she earned a Master’s degree in forensic toxicology, just to finish her schooling.

After graduation, she worked as a hog farm inspector in Colorado, spending her time talking with farmers. However, she eventually grew bored with the job.

As a homeschool mom who loved science, she began writing science textbooks and creating online classes for other homeschooling families. She wrote over 200 workbooks and was the top publisher at an online homeschool store many times.

But eventually, she ran out of topics to write about.

In 2012, she decided to try her hand at fiction writing. That year, she published three books that launched her into a successful career as a writer.

She became a New York Times bestseller and was listed on the USA Today Bestseller’s List 18 times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies worldwide.

Her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie Award in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018.

She currently writes with her first and only writing partner, Jonathan McClain, even though they are very different from each other.

J.A. Huss lives with her family on a ranch in Central Colorado.

Editoral Review

J.A. Huss’ Sexy is a captivating novel that will leave readers enthralled with its themes of passion, power, and secrecy. Published on August 28, 2015, Sexy is a contemporary romance novel that centers around the lives of three individuals, James, Harper, and Mercedes, who become intertwined in a complex web of love, lust, and betrayal.

Huss is a well-known author in the romance genre, and Sexy is no exception to her literary brilliance. Through her skillful storytelling and detailed characterization, Huss is able to draw readers into the lives of James, Harper, and Mercedes, and keep them entertained and engaged throughout the entirety of the novel.

At its core, Sexy is a tale about the complexity of human relationships and the interactions between people that can range from obsessive love to betrayal. The story follows the journey of James, a successful businessman who is harboring some deep-seated secrets, Harper, a young woman who is trying to piece her life back together after a broken engagement, and Mercedes, James’ ex-wife, who is still trying to come to terms with their failed marriage.

The three main characters are masterfully crafted, each with their own flaws and strengths, and their relationships with one another are at times hauntingly beautiful, while at others absolutely heartbreaking. Huss’ ability to weave together their stories is a testament to her crafting skills, and readers will be left wanting more by the time the last page is turned.

Beyond the complexities of the characters, the novel also explores themes that are relevant to modern society, such as power dynamics, control, and intimacy. Through these themes, readers are given a glimpse into the intricate workings of human relationships, and are forced to confront their own biases and preconceptions about what makes a “healthy” relationship.

Sexy is not without its flaws, however. The pacing of the novel can be slow at times, and the plot structure can be a bit convoluted, leaving some readers feeling confused about the direction of the story.

Additionally, some readers may find the explicit content and language of the novel to be overly graphic and offensive. Despite these limitations, Sexy is a must-read for anyone who enjoys well-crafted contemporary romance novels.

Huss has masterfully woven together a tale that is both engaging and thought-provoking, leaving readers with a sense of satisfaction at the story’s conclusion. In conclusion, Sexy is a beautifully written novel that is sure to captivate readers with its enthralling characters and complex themes.

For anyone looking for a romantic read that will leave them thinking long after the final page has been turned, this is the book for you. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance novels, giving it a solid rating of 4.5 out of 5.
