About the Author

Meet Christine, a bestselling author who’s not afraid of hard work. She may have achieved literary success, but she still has to chop wood and carry water – a fact that’s often overlooked.

Her lawyer is currently dealing with the issue, but in the meantime, if you can’t reach her on the phone, she’s probably at the well hauling buckets.

Originally from New York City, Christine moved to Hollywood, California to pursue a master’s degree in screenwriting at USC. Though the degree didn’t get her very far, it did give her the confidence to write novels.

Fans of her work often refer to her as the “Shakespeare of Smut,” a compliment that Christine appreciates but doesn’t let go to her head. Despite her success, she still spends plenty of time chopping wood.

If you happen to meet Christine, she prefers to go by her first name. And fair warning – her books aren’t for the faint of heart!

Editoral Review

Shuttergirl, written by the talented C.D. Reiss, is a captivating novel that will leave readers craving for more. Reiss expertly weaves together romance, suspense, and drama to create an unforgettable story that will stay with you long after you finish the last page.

The novel follows the story of Emily Rogers, a former paparazzi photographer who has now turned to high-end portraiture. Emily agrees to be the personal photographer of Hollywood star, Josh Faulkner.

Emily is wary of the job, since she and Josh share a deep secret, but the allure of the money and the prospect of working with Josh prove too tantalizing to resist. Reiss paints an engaging picture of Emily, Josh and the world they inhabit.

The characters are vividly portrayed, with each one having their own dynamic voice that enhances the story. Emily is a strong, independent woman who doesn’t shy away from doing what she needs to get ahead.

Josh is a complex character who is constantly in the public eye and is looking for a break from the never-ending scrutiny. Reiss expertly depicts the realistic, gritty and sometimes glamourous world of celebrity.

The pace of the novel is fast, with Reiss keeping the reader on their toes with her masterful use of suspense. This makes the book a thrilling page-turner, keeping the reader engaged from beginning to end.

Furthermore, the author’s writing style is smooth and easy to follow, making the reading experience effortlessly enjoyable. However, Shuttergirl is not without its faults.

The subplot of Emily’s past and the issue of Josh’s secret is not given enough attention, leaving readers wanting more. The novel feels like it could have been fleshed out more, with the underdeveloped characters in particular requiring more attention.

Overall, I highly recommend Shuttergirl to anyone who enjoys a well-crafted novel with a gripping storyline. The book is perfectly suited to those who love romance, drama, and suspense.

The novel explores themes of love, loyalty, trust and the price of fame, making it both thought-provoking and entertaining. Shuttergirl deserves a solid rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
