About the Author

I’m someone who aspires to be a prepper and has a fascination with all things pre-apocalyptic, apocalyptic, and post-apocalyptic. I find humor and romance in these topics, and they bring me immense joy.

Aside from my unwholesome fixation on home-canned food and Bug Out Bag gear, I enjoy reading, creating art, and having a good laugh. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, but now reside in Oregon with my family.

In my opinion, we don’t have nearly enough resources to survive a zombie apocalypse, but I’m actively striving to improve our preparedness.

Editoral Review

So Long, Lollipops by Sarah Lyons Fleming is a thrilling novel that is sure to captivate readers with its unique take on the zombie apocalypse. Published on February 22, 2014, the book has gained a significant following in the post-apocalyptic genre.

Sarah Lyons Fleming is an American author who has written several books in the zombie genre, and So Long, Lollipops is one of her most popular works.

So Long, Lollipops is set in a world where a deadly virus has taken over and turned people into flesh-eating zombies. The book follows Cassie, a young woman who finds herself alone and struggling to survive in this new world.

She is eventually joined by a group of people, including a soldier named Peter, and they band together to try and find a safe place to live. Along the way, they encounter countless dangers and obstacles, including other survivors who are not as friendly as they seem.

Fleming’s writing style is engaging and fast-paced, making for a thrilling reading experience. The characters are well-developed and relatable, with each member of the group bringing their own unique strengths and weaknesses to the table.

The world-building is also impressive, with Fleming providing a detailed and realistic portrayal of a world overrun by zombies.

One of the strengths of So Long, Lollipops is its exploration of the human condition in the face of extreme adversity. The book delves into themes of survival, loss, and the bonds between people in times of crisis.

It also touches on issues of power dynamics and the lengths people will go to in order to protect themselves and their loved ones.

However, one of the weaknesses of the book is its occasional lack of subtlety. At times, the themes and messages can come across as heavy-handed and obvious.

Additionally, some readers may find the violence and gore depicted in the book to be too graphic and unsettling.

Overall, So Long, Lollipops is a well-written and engaging novel that is sure to appeal to fans of the post-apocalyptic genre. While it may not be for everyone, those who enjoy a thrilling and thought-provoking read will find much to enjoy in this book.

I would give it a rating of 4 out of 5 stars, based on its strong characters, engaging writing, and exploration of deep themes.
