The story follows Zoe Brown, a veterinarian who recently inherited her father’s animal clinic in a small town in Oregon. Zoe, struggling with the recent death of her father and her own personal demons, decides to sell the clinic and leave town.

However, her plans are derailed when she meets the charismatic and charming contractor, Levi Webster. Levi’s own troubled past and attraction to Zoe convinces him to stay in town and help her renovate the clinic, and the two slowly develop a deep connection.

Bybee’s writing style is engaging and easy to follow, making it a perfect read for those looking for a light and heartwarming romance. The small-town setting and animal clinic backdrop add a comforting and nostalgic touch to the story.

Bybee’s use of dialogue is natural and believable, further immersing the readers into the story. The character development throughout the novel is well executed, with each character having their own unique backstory and growth.

While the plot may not be groundbreaking, the overall message of hope, healing, and second chances is a theme that many readers can relate to. Bybee tackles sensitive topics such as addiction and grief in a respectful and honest manner.

The romance between Zoe and Levi is sweet and genuine, without being too overly dramatic or clich.

One small criticism of the novel is the predictability of certain plot points.

Experienced readers of the romance genre may find the twists and turns of the story to be too familiar. However, this does not detract from the overall enjoyment of the novel.

Overall, Staying For Good is a charming and well-written novel that is perfect for fans of romance and small town stories. The characters are well developed, the setting is cozy, and the themes of love, healing, and second chances are heartwarming.
