Editoral Review

In her book Strong and Sexy, Jill Shalvis provides readers with a steamy romance story that is perfect for those who love the contemporary romance genre. Shalvis, known for her witty dialogue and strong female characters, has created a story that will leave readers entertained and satisfied.

The story centers around a former NFL star named Logan who has ended up in Lucky Harbor due to a misunderstanding that led him to flee. He starts working as a contractor, and he meets the quirky and fiercely independent yoga instructor, Tara.

As they get to know each other, their chemistry begins to grow, and they both must face their personal demons to find a way to make their relationship work. Shalvis has done an excellent job of developing the characters in Strong and Sexy, especially in the way that she portrays their emotional struggles.

Tara and Logan have both experienced trauma that has shaped who they are and this makes their developement an intense experience. This is shown authentically through their actions and conversations, which makes them more relatable and realistic.

In addition, the books pacing is excellent, giving the reader just the right amount of time to process key developments without ever slowing down too much. The writing style is engaging, and Shalviss witty one-liners add a comedic touch that alleviates the tension

While the book is a satisfying read overall, there are some small drawbacks to mention.

Occasionally, the secondary characters do not receive as much character growth or attention as they deserve, which can leave them feeling somewhat one-dimensional or trope-y. But, one can argue that this limitation is common throughout this genre.

Still, it would have been preferential if the author had paid as much attention to them as she did the main characters. Overall, Strong and Sexy earns a solid recommendation from us for readers who are looking for a fun and captivating romance novel.

This book represents the intersection of great writing, memorable characters, and heartfelt emotion, making it a worthwhile read for those who are interested in the genre. We give Strong and Sexy 4 out of 5 stars.
