About the Author

At the tender age of thirteen, Dana Marie Bell put pen to paper to write her very first short story, and she hasn’t stopped writing since. Her passion for creative writing led her to attend the High School for Creative and Performing Arts, where she was able to freely express herself through her writing.

However, when her parents relocated and she had to attend a Catholic high school for her senior year, she struggled to adapt. Despite the challenge, she graduated with honors, thanks to her unyielding determination.

Throughout her life, Dana has primarily resided in the Northeast, bouncing between Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, with a brief stint on the US Virgin Island of St. Croix. She currently resides with her soul-mate and husband, Dusty, along with their two energetic children, a mischievous cat who steals ice-cream, and a bull terrier who thinks it’s a Pekinese.

Editoral Review

Sweet Dreams by Dana Marie Bell is a delightful romance novel that immerses readers in a world of love, magic, and mystery. First published on August 12, 2008, Bells novel is a perfect example of the contemporary romance genre.

Set in a contemporary world where paranormal beings exist, the novel incorporates themes of romance, mystery, and action to keep readers thoroughly captivated from start to finish. The story follows the protagonist, Aiden, a werewolf with a tragic past.

Fiercely loyal to his pack and determined to keep them safe from the dangers that lurk in the shadows, Aiden’s life is thrown into disarray when he meets a woman who he cannot ignore. Cassandra is a powerful witch who has been searching for her soulmate for centuries.

When these two beings cross paths, their connection is undeniable. Together, they must navigate politics, danger, and their own emotional turmoil as they race against time to protect their world.

Bell expertly crafts her story world, effortlessly blending elements of the supernatural with everyday life. The characters are dynamic and well developed, with Aiden and Cassandra making for an excellent pair of protagonists.

They are both strong-willed, passionate individuals who complement each other perfectly. The supporting cast is also well fleshed out, with the antagonist being particularly menacing.

One of the standout qualities of Sweet Dreams is Bells ability to create tension and suspense through her pacing. The plot twists and turns, keeping readers guessing until the very end.

The romance between Aiden and Cassandra is also handled expertly, building slowly and with a natural ebb and flow that feels organic and believable. While the book is primarily a romance, it delves into themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the power of love.

Bell explores the concept of soulmates and the lengths that two people will go to protect each other. There are also larger themes at play, such as power dynamics and political intrigue, which add depth to the story world.

The only critique I have of this novel is that it can be a bit formulaic at times, adhering closely to the conventions of the contemporary romance genre. However, this is a minor flaw that is quickly overshadowed by Bell’s excellent writing and storytelling.

In conclusion, Sweet Dreams by Dana Marie Bell is a superb romance novel that is sure to delight fans of the genre. Bell’s strong character development and masterful pacing make this book a must-read for anyone looking for a great story about love, magic, and adventure.

I recommend it without reservation and give it a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5.
