Editoral Review

Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins is a thrilling young adult novel published on April 30, 2013. Wendy Higgins is a bestselling author known for her paranormal and romantic fantasy novels.

Sweet Peril is the second installment in a trilogy of books that tells the story of Anna Whitt, a young woman who is half angel and half demon. The novel is set in a world where angels and demons are real and constantly in battle.

Anna must navigate through both worlds as she struggles with her identity and the decisions she must make. The story takes readers on a journey filled with romance, action, and suspense as Anna finds herself increasingly caught up in the war between good and evil.

The character development in Sweet Peril is exceptional. Throughout the novel, Anna becomes more confident and self-assured as she learns to harness her abilities and emotions.

The other characters, especially Kaidan, the love interest, are also well developed and add depth to the story. The pacing of the novel is just right, with plenty of action scenes and dramatic events to keep readers engaged.

The plot structure is also well crafted, and the author provides enough information for readers to follow the story without getting lost in it. One of the strengths of Sweet Peril is the way in which it deals with themes such as identity, love, and family.

The author tackles these issues with sensitivity, and the messages are well thought out and thought-provoking. However, the book does have some limitations.

The writing, while generally good, can be overly descriptive and repetitive at times. Additionally, the book could benefit from a bit more diversity in its characters and world-building.

Overall, Sweet Peril is an entertaining and thought-provoking novel that is sure to appeal to fans of romantic fantasy and paranormal fiction. While there are some flaws, these are relatively minor and do not detract from the overall reading experience.

I would recommend Sweet Peril to young adult readers who enjoy fast-paced, action-packed novels with engaging characters and themes that resonate with our times. It would be particularly suited to fans of other YA fiction, such as Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments series or Lauren Kate’s Fallen series.

I give Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. While the book is not perfect, its strengths outweigh its weaknesses, and it is sure to leave readers eager to find out what happens next in the trilogy.
