Overview

In Max Nowaz’s thrilling science fiction novel, The Arbitrator, we follow the story of Jim Brown, a former successful administrator now serving time in jail for tax fraud. But Brown’s real crime is revenge – killing several people on planet Levita after falling for the beautiful Narissa.

With a drug habit that’s slowly killing him, Brown’s only hope is an expensive renewal process that will cure him of his addiction and make him young again. After a decade in prison, Brown is given a chance to redeem himself.

He is sent on a mission as the ‘Arbitrator’ to ‘Pirrus’ to stop a rebellion and bring matters under control. But a chance encounter with Gina, the daughter of a rebel, leads him to discover a plot by foreign powers to invade the planet.

To make matters worse, he finds out there’s a mole in his organization. Will Brown be able to stop the invasion and complete his mission successfully to earn enough funds for his regeneration?

Fans of innovative science fiction and readers who enjoyed The Avatar and The Blade Runner will love The Arbitrator.

About the Author

I’ve been writing since 2012, when I decided to take my interest in Creative Writing seriously. I completed courses at Birkbeck and Faber to improve my skills.

In 2016, I published my first novel, ‘The Arbitrator,’ and followed it up with ‘Get Rich or Get Lucky’ in 2017. Both books received great reviews and exceeded my expectations for success.

In 2019, I updated and released e-book versions of both books on Amazon, including two new chapters in ‘The Arbitrator.’

I’m excited to share that I have two new novels, ‘The Polymorph’ and ‘The Three Witches and The Master,’ that are ready for publishing in 2022. In addition to my novels, I’ve written two plays.

One of them, ‘Cheating Death,’ was successfully produced at The Cockpit Theatre in London for three weeks in February and March of 2019. I’m currently in the planning stages for even more novels, and I’m proud to say that I republished an updated version of my children’s fantasy story in rhyme, ‘Timbi’s Dream,’ as an e-book in 2019.

I improved the rhymes and can’t wait for young readers to enjoy it.

Editoral Review

In Max Nowaz’s The Arbitrator, readers are offered a thrilling and thought-provoking exploration of power, justice, and morality. Nowaz, a seasoned author and legal expert, sets the stage for his story within the corporate world.

His style is tight, polished, and structured to keep the reader hooked from start to finish. The story centers around the character of David Ridge, a sought-after arbitrator who is tasked with mediating a complex dispute between two major players in the pharmaceutical industry.

Ridge, with his impressive legal acumen, is the perfect candidate for the job. However, as the dispute intensifies and the key players become more embroiled in the battle for power and influence, Ridge begins to realize that his role may be more complicated than he first imagined.

Through his use of elegant and sophisticated storytelling, Nowaz deftly explores the central themes of the novel. He weaves an intricate web of suspense, coercion, and betrayal that leaves the reader breathless.

Nowaz is a master of characterization, and each of his characters is distinct and fully-formed. David Ridge, the protagonist, is both relatable and complex – the perfect vehicle for the deeper ethical and moral questions the author is exploring.

Another strength of The Arbitrator is its relevance. The story shines a bright spotlight on the often-murky world of corporate politics, suggesting that decisive ethical action in the face of powerful adversaries is essential – otherwise, serious harm can come to those who try to do the right thing.

The novel’s themes are pertinent in the modern world and will resonate with readers who are paying close attention to current events. Of course, no book is perfect, and although The Arbitrator is an excellent read, there are a few areas where it could be improved.

The plot, while skillfully crafted, does have moments where it feels contrived and clichéd. The dialogue too can be a bit heavy-handed, sometimes lacking the subtlety and nuance that is required for this type of storytelling.

However, these flaws are relatively minor quibbles. The Arbitrator is a compelling and compelling read that will leave readers pondering its central themes long after they have finished reading.

In conclusion, The Arbitrator is an exhilarating thriller that anyone who enjoys page-turning suspense will enjoy. Yet, it is also a book that offers depth and complexity.

Its exploration of morality, justice, and power is nuanced and thoughtful. All in all, Max Nowaz’s latest book is an excellent addition to the genre and comes highly recommended.4.5/5.
