About the Author
Back in 1822, Jakob Ludwig Karl Grimm, a German philologist and folklorist, came up with Grimm’s Law, which has since been the foundation for much of modern comparative linguistics. Along with his brother Wilhelm Karl Grimm, he compiled a collection of Germanic folk tales, which were published as Grimm’s Fairy Tales between 1812 and 1815.
Grimm’s Law describes how Indo-European stop consonants changed in Germanic languages. For instance, Indo-European “p” became “f” in Germanic, “t” became “th,” and “k” became “h.” Grimm’s Law also explains how “b,” “d,” and “g” became “p,” “t,” and “k” respectively in the Germanic languages.
Besides, Jakob Ludwig Karl Grimm was also a mythologist and a jurist who wrote a monumental work on German law and his memoirs.

The stories are presented without alteration or editing, the way they were intended to be read, and the reader gets to experience the full effect of the underlying messages conveyed. The Complete Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales is a collection of over 200 stories that include tales about kings and princes, witches and dwarfs, and talking animals.

The book’s strength lies in its ability to capture the reader’s imagination and transport them to magical, far-off lands. The stories are well-crafted, creatively imagined, and intelligently woven.
The characters are multidimensional and well-developed, and the pacing and plot structure are excellent. The book offers a vast array of life lessons applicable to all ages, and the stories’ morality provides an ethical framework for readers to live by.
However, some of the tales may contain controversial themes or depict certain events that may not sit well with some readers, especially with the current social norms.
