About the Author

Katie MacAlister has been a book lover for as long as she can remember. She grew up in a family that made weekly visits to the library, and she spent much of her time engrossed in novels.

Although she enjoyed reading, she never considered becoming a writer until she was asked to write a non-fiction book about software. Unfortunately, her editor didn’t allow her to include witty dialogue or love scenes in the book.

So, Katie decided to switch to fiction, where she could create her own worlds, torture her characters, and fall in love with all her heroes.

After two years of writing, Katie sold her first romance novel, Noble Intentions. Since then, she has written over thirty books, which have been translated into many languages, recorded as audiobooks, won several awards, and appeared on the New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists.

Katie also writes for young adults under the name Katie Maxwell and mystery novels under the name Kate Marsh.

Katie currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and dogs. She can often be found browsing the internet.

Editoral Review

Katie MacAlisters The Last of the Red-Hot Vampires is a delightful addition to the paranormal romance genre. First published on April 3, 2007, the book follows the story of the charming and witty Aisling Grey, a courier for the supernatural realm, and her entanglement with the handsome vampire, Drake Vireo.

MacAlisters writing style is playful and witty, perfectly capturing the essence of her protagonist. The story is fast-paced, sprinkled with humor, and dripping with sexual tension.

The book will appeal to fans of the genre looking for a lighthearted read with all the supernatural elements they crave. Set in Paris, the novel begins with Aisling embarking on a new courier job only to find herself caught up in a vampire clan war.

She is reluctantly drawn into a love triangle between Drake and the annoyingly persistent werewolf, Seth, who is insistent on claiming her as his mate. The characters in The Last of the Red-Hot Vampires are well-developed, and their interactions are entertaining.

Aisling is a refreshing and relatable protagonist who values her independence and is quick with a witty retort. Drake is everything a reader wants in a vampire love interest, with his enigmatic charm and seductive nature.

Seth, the werewolf, provides an amusing foil to the other two characters. MacAlister cleverly infuses historical references throughout the novel, adding an extra layer of depth to the story.

The book explores themes of love, loyalty, power, and morality within the confines of the supernatural world. However, the novel’s plot structure could be tighter, and its pacing a bit more consistent.

The climax requires a bit of suspension of disbelief and the resolution feels a bit rushed. Despite these minor flaws, The Last of the Red-Hot Vampires provides an enjoyable, lighthearted reading experience.

Overall, The Last of the Red-Hot Vampires is a fun, entertaining, and sexy novel that will leave readers turning pages long into the night. Fans of paranormal romance or anyone looking for a light romance with a supernatural twist should give this book a read.

It is a solid addition to the genre and will leave readers feeling satisfied. I rate this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
