Tracing the call to an abandoned warehouse, Sloan discovers that her friend has been abducted and the only way to secure her release is through a dangerous ransom.

A ransom that is too high for Sloan to ignore – her unborn daughter, the most powerful being in the world. With her daughter’s life on the line, Sloan discovers a newfound strength within her and sets out on a perilous journey to confront her greatest demon, Kasyade.

Editoral Review

In “The Sacrifice,” author Elicia Hyder delivers a stunning and heart-wrenching new addition to the supernatural romance genre. This novel follows the story of Theo Bruckner, a young man with the ability to see and communicate with ghosts.

When his best friend and love interest, Riley, suddenly dies, Theo is thrust into a world of danger and sacrifice as he attempts to unravel the truth behind her mysterious death and stop a dark force from taking over their town. Hyder’s writing is gripping and beautifully descriptive, bringing the small southern town of Shadow Grove to life with her words.

Her characters are complex and flawed, making them feel realistic and easy to connect with. The novel explores themes of grief, love, sacrifice, and the lengths people will go to protect those they care about.

However, despite the strengths of the novel, there are a few areas that could be improved upon. The pacing can feel slow at times, and some plot points can be predictable.

The ending also feels rushed and could have used more development. Comparing “The Sacrifice” to Hyder’s previous works, it is clear that she has grown as a writer, both in terms of storytelling and character development.

This novel is a great addition to the supernatural romance genre, and fans of similar works such as “Twilight” and “The Mortal Instruments” will enjoy it. Overall, “The Sacrifice” is a beautifully written and emotionally evocative novel.

While it may not be perfect, it is still a worthwhile read for fans of the genre. It deserves a rating of 4 out of 5 stars, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a gripping and emotional supernatural romance.
