Overview

Anna Ruston was a lost and lonely 15-year-old when her life took a dark turn. Befriended by a seemingly kind taxi driver, Anna agreed to go home with him to meet his family.

It was a decision that would change her life forever. For 13 years, Anna was held captive by a sadistic paedophile and his family, enduring unspeakable levels of abuse and torture.

Her body was broken, her mind shattered. But somehow, she found the strength to survive.

In this heart-wrenching and inspiring memoir, Anna shares her story of unimaginable trauma and ultimate triumph over evil. This is the story of one woman’s incredible journey from captive to survivor.

About the Author

Marcia Lynn McClure was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and grew up listening to the stories of her rugged, rural Colorado farm life. These stories were told to her by her family members and consisted of tales of runaway buckboards, mule-drawn plows, and dust pneumonia.

The stories also included verbalized images of frozen over stream-flooded meadows where a child could peer through the crystal-clear ice and observe small fish, snakes, and mice sealed in the meadow grasses beneath. The stories were often heartbreaking, yet they always bore evidence of the wonder and worthiness of simpler times.

These stories, along with her own life experiences and her utterly romantic nature, inspired Marcia to begin writing novels as Christmas gifts for her closest friends. Her friends longed for a breath of the past and missed the romance of bygone eras.

They were searching for moments of distraction from the stressful and demanding times we live in.

Marcia knew that many women longed to relive the breath of the past and the “take me in your arms and kiss me” kind of moments. She spun her tales of love, life, and laughter around these compelling and romantic instances that most appeal to a woman’s loving heart.

Marcia believes that if her readers close one of her books with a contented sigh and a delighted smile, feeling rejuvenated, cheerful, and edified, then she has achieved what she set out to do – shower refreshment and happiness on anyone who has experienced the story.

Marcia lives in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, where she is surrounded by her beloved friends, family, and the beautiful desert landscape of New Mexico.

Editoral Review

The Visions of Ransom Lake by Marcia Lynn McClure is a captivating romance novel that was first published in 2002. Marcia Lynn McClure is a prolific author who is known for her expertise in the romance genre.

Her books are characterized by their romantic plots, vividly described settings, complicated characters, and captivating writing style. The Visions of Ransom Lake is set in the small town of Ransom Lake in Wyoming, where the residents are struggling to make ends meet.

The story revolves around the life of a young woman named Jenna, who is struggling to deal with the loss of her mother. When she meets the charming and charismatic Ransom Lake, she falls in love with him immediately.

However, their relationship is complicated by the fact that Jenna is engaged to another man, and Ransom has a reputation as a playboy. The story is filled with twists and turns as Jenna and Ransom navigate their complicated relationship amid the backdrop of the struggling town.

One of the strengths of The Visions of Ransom Lake is the authors ability to create a vivid and realistic small-town setting. The descriptions of the town and its residents are so detailed and realistic that it feels like you are actually there.

Additionally, the characters are well-developed and complex, making it easy to relate to their struggles and emotions. While the pacing of the story is slow at times, it is an intentional choice by the author to build tension and suspense.

The plot is well-structured, and the themes of love, loss, and redemption are explored in depth. The authors writing style is beautiful and lyrical, with descriptions that are both vivid and poetic.

Overall, The Visions of Ransom Lake is an engaging and well-written novel that is well worth reading. While it may not be groundbreaking in terms of its themes or plot, it is a solid example of the romance genre.

One limitation of the book is that it may not appeal to readers who are not fans of the romance genre. I would recommend The Visions of Ransom Lake to fans of the romance genre who are looking for a well-written and engaging novel.

It is especially recommended for readers who enjoy small-town settings, complex characters, and romantic plots. I would give this book a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
