Even though they’ve both moved on and started new lives, Caleb can’t shake the feeling that they’re meant to be together. When fate brings them back into each other’s lives, Caleb must decide if he’s willing to risk everything to win Olivia back.

But love can be a double-edged sword, and Caleb soon realizes that his actions have consequences. Will Caleb and Olivia be able to overcome the obstacles in their path, or will love end up costing them more than they bargained for?

About the Author

My goal as a writer is to create stories that resonate with readers on an emotional level. While I aspire to write a universally loved novel, I recognize that even accomplished authors like J.K. Rowling cannot achieve such a feat.

Instead, I focus on crafting narratives that evoke powerful feelings, particularly sadness and regret, which can be a potent combination.

One of my favorite aspects of storytelling is exploring the psyche of villains. Characters like Mother Gothel, Gaston, and the Evil Queen, who are consumed by their vanity, fascinate me and often serve as the driving force behind my plots.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy indulging in simple pleasures like sipping Coke, savoring Starbucks coffee, and relishing the rain. I also have a fondness for sarcasm, but I detest poorly chosen adjectives and the overused phrase “smolder.”

If you decide to read my book, I am grateful for your support. If you don’t enjoy it, that’s okay too – I still appreciate your time and hope that you won’t be unkind.

After all, as a writer, I’m part tough cookie, part sensitive soul.

Editoral Review

The Thief by Tarryn Fisher is a masterfully written novel that takes readers on a journey through the emotional and psychological depths of the human experience. First published on July 20, 2013, Fisher’s work mingles elements of suspense, romance, and mystery, making for an exciting and captivating read.

The novel revolves around the deeply intriguing main character, Caleb Drake, who is afflicted with kleptomania. Living in constant fear of being discovered and ostracized, Caleb’s life changes when he meets the beautiful and enigmatic Olivia Kaspen.

The two forge a deep and twisted relationship as Caleb battles to overcome his demons while keeping Olivias secrets safe from prying eyes. Fishers writing style is crisp, with an air of dark humor that is perfectly suited to the storys chilling and unsettling themes.

The story immerses the reader in the often-terrifying world of mental illness, addiction, and betrayal, providing an empathetic but unflinching look into the lives of those who struggle with such afflictions. Despite admittedly darker themes, Fisher’s mastery of character development creates a light within the darkness, with characters so fully realized that they might as well step off the page.

Caleb and Olivia’s complicated relationship is nuanced and will leave readers emotionally invested in their story. Throughout the course of the novel, Fisher takes note of social issues such as addiction, mental illness, the stigmatization of mental health, and their consequences.

This provides the basis for a captivating, thought-provoking read that will challenge its readers and leave them reflecting long after the final page. The Thief is not without fault, however, as at times, the plot can become somewhat slow and uneventful.

These lulls can be frustrating for readers who expect more action or plot development from the story. Nevertheless, the exceptional character development and writing style ensure that the story never loses its grip on the reader.

Overall, The Thief by Tarryn Fisher is an excellently crafted novel that will resonate with fans of the suspense, psychological thriller, and mystery genres. Fishers masterful writing and relatable characters make the novel an easy recommendation for fans of literature.

The Washington Post recommends this book as a delightful and thoughtful work of fiction that delves into the complexities of the human psyche, earning a rating of five stars out of five.
