About the Author

Growing up in Texas during the seventies, I had a passion for writing and film. Unfortunately, my Cuban-American parents didn’t share my interests.

Instead, they believed that there were only three acceptable career paths for a male child: doctor, lawyer, and architect.

Initially, I attempted to become a doctor, but my first year of college pre-Med was a disaster. I had too much fun and not enough studying.

So, I decided to pursue a degree in philosophy, which my parents deemed unacceptable. Eventually, I went to law school to save the family name.

While in law school, I was fortunate enough to be selected for law journal, and my articles were cited by courts and recognized on the National Law Journal’s “Worth Reading” list. This was a significant achievement in the legal world.

After practicing law for ten years, I realized that it wasn’t compatible with family life. Therefore, I obtained an MBA and later pursued a PhD.

I became over-educated around the turn of the century.

Thanks to my credentials, I was able to switch careers and enter corporate America. I spent long stints working in Europe and Asia.

It was my wife who encouraged me to pursue writing novels. After writing for thousands of hours and enduring seven or eight literary miscarriages over the course of eighteen years, I’m now a published fiction author.

Currently, my family and I reside in South Florida with our six dogs and one cat. In my free time, I enjoy boating, running, and indulging in chocolate.
