About the Author

Cherry Adair, a New York Times best-selling author, has always been an adventurer in both life and writing. She moved from Cape Town, South Africa to the United States in her early years to pursue her passion for interior design.

Currently living in the Pacific Northwest, Cherry captivates her readers with the award-winning tales of her fictional T-FLAC counter-terrorism operatives.

After moving to San Francisco, Cherry began her interior design business, which eventually thrived. She enjoyed working with the public and the creativity that came with designing.

In her free time, Cherry was an avid reader, and she would often find herself lost in her own stories and characters. She explains that eventually, the stories demanded to be told.

When asked about her choice to write romantic action adventures, Cherry responds by asking, “Who says you can’t have adventure and a great love life?” She writes romantic suspense stories coupled with heart-pounding adventure because she loves to entertain her readers. And what keeps readers happier than a rollercoaster read followed by a happy ending?

Cherry is also popular on the workshop circuit, where she provides lively classes on writing and the writing life. Her advice to anyone aspiring to become a published writer is simple: “Sit your butt in the chair and write.

Writing is hard work. It isn’t for sissies or whiners.”

Although Cherry enjoys spending time at home, her office, with its nine-foot ceilings, built-in bookcases, and a fireplace, is where she feels most focused on writing. Her office also has a corner desk that overlooks the front gardens, and it’s always calling her to come outside and play.

She admits that her keeper shelf has been breeding, much like dry cleaners’ wire clothes hangers.

Editoral Review

Undertow by Cherry Adair is an engaging thriller novel that will keep readers at the edge of their seat. Published on December 28, 2010, Cherry Adair takes us on a wild ride, full of action, adventure, and romance.

A master of her craft, Adair weaves a story that skillfully balances the intensity of the plot with the deep emotions of the characters. Undertow follows the story of Macey Clare, a world-renowned oceanographer, and Donovan, a Special Forces agent.

When a powerful underwater earthquake shakes the Pacific Ocean and threatens to unleash a tsunami, Macey and Donovan find themselves on a mission to stop a group of terrorists who plan to use the natural disaster as a weapon of mass destruction. Along the way, they face dangerous obstacles and unexpected challenges that push them to the limit.

Adair’s writing style is fast-paced and engaging, making it easy for readers to get hooked from the first page. The plot is filled with twists and turns that keep the reader guessing until the very end.

The author’s attention to detail is impeccable, skillfully crafting each scene and setting so that the reader feels like they are right there with the characters. Macey and Donovan are complex, layered characters who add depth and emotion to the story.

Despite their different backgrounds and personalities, they are drawn to each other, which adds a layer of romance to the storyline. Their chemistry is palpable, and readers will find themselves rooting for them throughout the book.

Adair’s portrayal of the underwater world is another standout feature of the book. The author has a deep knowledge of oceanography, and her descriptions of the oceans and marine life are vivid and colorful, bringing the setting to life.

Undertow is not without its flaws, however. The pacing of the book can be slow at times, and some of the supporting characters are not fully developed, making it difficult for readers to connect with them.

Additionally, some of the plot twists can be predictable, which may detract from the overall reading experience. Overall, Undertow by Cherry Adair is an action-packed thriller that will satisfy fans of the genre.

With its engaging plot, strong characters, and beautiful setting, Undertow will appeal to readers who enjoy high-stakes adventure and romance. While not perfect, it is a solid addition to Adair’s body of work and is sure to keep readers entertained.

I would recommend this book to fans of authors like Clive Cussler and James Rollins who favor stories full of adventure and action. Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars.
