Editoral Review

Samantha Hayes 2014 novel, Until Youre Mine, is a psychological thriller that explores the theme of obsession through multiple narratives. Hayes is an accomplished author who has previously written bestsellers such as The Reunion and Tell Me a Secret.

In Until Youre Mine, she continues to impress readers with her talent for creating suspenseful plots that grip readers from beginning to end. The novel begins with a series of haunting prologues that leave readers on edge.

The book follows three women Claudia, Zoe, and Detective Lorraine Fisher whose stories intertwine in unexpected ways. Claudia is a successful career woman who is pregnant with her first child but hires a nanny, Zoe, to help out with the baby.

Meanwhile, Lorraine Fisher is an experienced detective who is investigating a series of brutal murders of pregnant women. As the story progresses, it becomes clear that each of these women has secrets that threaten to unravel their lives.

Hayes writing is meticulous, and her attention to detail brings the books setting to life. She skillfully weaves in relevant historical and cultural events, such as the 2012 London Olympics, which serve to underscore the storys themes.

For instance, the class tensions in the book are highlighted by the contrast between the wealthy, cosmopolitan characters who live in affluent neighborhoods and the working-class backgrounds of others. The characters in Until Youre Mine are well-developed, and each one is flawed in some way, adding to their relatability.

Claudia, Zoe, and Lorraine are complex and intriguing, and their inner struggles make them relatable to readers. The pacing of the book is steady, and there is never a dull moment.

The plot twists are expertly crafted, and the tension builds until it reaches a satisfying climax. Despite its many strengths, Until Youre Mine does have some flaws.

The ending might leave some readers wanting more, and some of the coincidences that bring the characters together might strain credulity. Additionally, while the books themes are relevant and timely, they may also be somewhat clichd for readers who are familiar with the genre.

Overall, Until Youre Mine is a fantastic read for anyone who enjoys a good psychological thriller. Hayes writing is engaging and compelling, and the characters and plot are expertly crafted.

Fans of Gillian Flynn will particularly enjoy this book, as it shares some commonalities with Gone Girl and Sharp Objects. The book is recommended for those who enjoy a good mystery and a page-turner.

On a scale of one to five stars, this book gets four out of five.
