About the Author

Stephanie Laurens was born in the beautiful island country of Sri Lanka, which was then known as the British colony of Ceylon. At the age of 5, her family relocated to Melbourne, Australia, where she spent her formative years.

Stephanie went on to complete her schooling and earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry before moving to Great Britain with her husband. They embarked on an epic overland journey from Katmandu to London before settling down in Kent.

Living in an area steeped in history, Stephanie and her husband resided in a charming 16th-century cottage. They were surrounded by remnants of the past, such as the protected ruins of an early Roman villa next door and a 14th-century castle nearby.

After four years in England, they returned to Australia, where Stephanie continued her cancer research and eventually founded her own laboratory.

One evening, Stephanie realized that she had run out of her favorite romance novels. She had long dreamt of writing a book of her own and began crafting her story during her spare time for several months.

The manuscript, Tangled Reins, was her first published novel. Stephanie went on to retire from scientific research to become a full-time novelist.

Her books are primarily historical romances set in the Regency era.

Stephanie and her husband now reside on peaceful acreage on the outskirts of Melbourne. When she’s not writing, she enjoys reading or tending to her garden.
