Editoral Review

Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire is a captivating novel that explores the tumultuous relationship between Abby and Travis, two college students who fall in love despite their complicated pasts. Published on April 2, 2013, this book is a sequel to McGuire’s bestselling novel, Beautiful Disaster.

McGuire is a renowned American author who has written several popular romance novels, including A Beautiful Funeral, From Here to You, and Red Hill. She has a unique writing style that combines romance, drama, and suspense to create compelling stories that keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Walking Disaster is no exception. The novel follows the story of Travis Maddox, a college student who falls hopelessly in love with Abby Abernathy, a girl with a mysterious past.

Travis and Abby’s relationship is full of ups and downs, with both characters struggling to overcome their personal demons while navigating their intense feelings for each other. As the plot unfolds, readers are taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as they witness the couple’s journey towards love and self-discovery.

One of the novel’s strengths is the depth of the characters. McGuire skilfully crafts complex and flawed characters that readers can relate to.

Travis is a perfect example of this, as he is presented as a charismatic young man with a troubled past that often gets in the way of his relationships. Abby, on the other hand, is portrayed as a strong and independent woman who is not afraid to stand up for herself.

Another strength of the novel is the pacing. The plot moves at a steady pace, with enough twists and turns to keep readers engaged.

The author does a superb job of building tension throughout the story, making it difficult to predict what will happen next. However, the novel also has some weaknesses.

For example, some readers may find the ending to be somewhat predictable, lacking the kind of twist that would have made it more satisfying. Additionally, some scenes in the book may be triggering for readers, as they depict instances of physical and emotional abuse.

Overall, Walking Disaster is a well-written and engaging novel that is sure to captivate fans of the romance genre. McGuire’s writing is filled with emotion and tension, making it difficult to put the book down.

While the novel is not without its flaws, it is still an enjoyable read that is definitely worth a try. For fans of Jamie McGuire’s previous works, Walking Disaster is a must-read.

Readers who enjoy romance novels with complex characters and well-crafted plots will also find this book to be a great choice. This book is recommended for mature readers due to its depiction of mature themes, such as abuse and substance abuse.

Washington Post rates Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire 4 out of 5 stars. The novel is a great addition to the romance genre and is sure to be enjoyed by many readers.
