About the Author

Anya Bast writes captivating romantic fiction, with a focus on paranormal themes that are sure to turn up the heat. Alongside her husband, daughter, eight cats, a dog, and a group of rescued animals, she resides in the countryside.

Growing up in Minnesota, she’s always been fond of cold weather. After finishing high school, she moved to the southeast United States for college, where she sold her first book while pursuing her masters in psychology.

However, she soon realized that writing was her lifelong dream, and decided to follow that path instead.

Although she tends to be a bit of a recluse, she can be coaxed out of her shell with a fine bottle of red wine, classic movies, or great music. When she’s not writing, she enjoys growing organic veggies, scouring thrift stores for the perfect outfit, or daydreaming about traveling to far-off lands.

At the moment, Anya is diligently working on a new series for Berkley Sensation, while wrapping up her national bestseller, Elemental Witches quartet.

Editoral Review

Anya Basts Witch Fury takes readers on a thrilling journey into a world of magic, power, and intrigue. This dark and seductive paranormal romance novel was first published on June 2, 2009, and has since captivated readers with its imaginative world-building, complex characters, and heart-pumping plot.

Bast is an American author who specializes in writing paranormal romance and urban fantasy novels. She is most famous for her Elemental Witches series, which includes Witch Fury as its seventh installment.

Basts writing style is sensual and evocative, richly portraying the world of her novels with vivid imagery and lyrical prose. Witch Fury takes place in a world where witches and other supernatural beings live amongst humans, hiding their true identities and powers.

At the center of the story is the powerful witch Mira Hoskins, who has recently been betrayed by her coven and exiled from their community. When she meets the enigmatic and dangerous witch Lyon, sparks fly between them, and they embark on a quest to reclaim their rightful place in the magical world.

The novel explores themes of power, trust, loyalty, and redemption, weaving a story that is both thrilling and emotional. Basts characters are vividly drawn and multifaceted, with rich histories and complex motivations.

Mira, Lyon, and the supporting cast are all vividly portrayed, each bringing their own unique strengths and weaknesses to the table. Basts pacing of the novel is masterful, with each chapter building to a thrilling climax that leaves readers breathless.

The plot is twisty and full of surprises, with each new revelation adding to the tension and drama. Basts world-building is also impressive, creating a vividly imagined world of witches, vampires, and other supernatural beings that is both immersive and engaging.

While Witch Fury is an enjoyable and well-crafted novel, it does have some limitations. The romance between Mira and Lyon can seem a bit rushed and forced at times, and the ending may not satisfy all readers.

Additionally, some may find the novels focus on the power dynamics of the magical world to be a bit heavy-handed. Despite these minor flaws, Witch Fury is a highly entertaining and engaging novel that will appeal to fans of paranormal romance and urban fantasy.

It is a well-crafted and skillfully written novel that is both thrilling and emotionally resonant. Overall, I highly recommend Witch Fury to readers who enjoy fast-paced and engaging paranormal romance novels with complex characters, imaginative world-building, and intense action.

Anya Basts seventh installment in the Elemental Witches series is sure to satisfy fans of the genre and leave them eagerly awaiting her next literary offering. I give Witch Fury a 4 out of 5 stars.
