About the Author
Michelle Paver, originally from central Africa, moved to England when she was young. She pursued a degree in biochemistry at Oxford University before becoming a partner in a city law firm.
However, her passion for animals, anthropology, and the distant past led her to eventually leave her law career behind and become a full-time writer.
Michelle’s Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series, which has achieved great success, was inspired by her love for animals and the past. She also had a memorable encounter with a large bear in a remote valley in southern California.
To conduct research for her books, Michelle has traveled to various places such as Finland, Greenland, Sweden, Norway, Arctic Canada, and the Carpathian Mountains. During her travels, she has had some incredible experiences, including sleeping on reindeer skins, swimming with wild orca (killer whales), and getting up close to polar bears and wolves.
