About the Author

CLAMP is a mangaka group that was originally formed in 1989 as a dōjinshi circle with twelve members. However, by 1990, the group had shrunk to seven members.

During the production of the RG Veda manga, three more members left the group. Other members who have since left include Soushi Hishika, O-Kyon, Kazue Nakamori, Yuzuru Inoue, and Shinya Ōmi.

Currently, CLAMP has four members.

As part of their 15th anniversary celebration in 2004, the members of CLAMP changed their names. Nanase Ohkawa, Mokona Apapa, Mick Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi became Ageha Ohkawa, Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi (pronounced the same but written differently), respectively.

According to a later interview with Ohkawa, Mokona wanted to drop her surname because she thought it sounded too immature, while Nekoi disliked having the same name as Mick Jagger. Ohkawa and Igarashi changed their names to go along with the others.

In 2006, CLAMP made their first public appearance in the USA at Anime Expo in Anaheim, California. They were warmly received by their fans, with 6,000 people showing up to their panel.

Editoral Review

xxxHolic, Vol. 10 is a manga volume written and illustrated by CLAMP, a group of female manga artists from Japan.

This volume was first published on November 17th, 2006, and belongs to the fantasy, supernatural, and drama genres. The story takes place in Japan and features themes of Japanese folklore, magic, and clairvoyance.

The main character of the series is Kimihiro Watanuki, a high school student who can see ghosts and spirits. In this volume, Kimihiro’s friend, Shizuka Domeki, asks for his help in locating an object hidden in a spiritual dimension.

As Watanuki navigates through the realm of spirits, he encounters different creatures and entities whose power and intentions challenge his abilities. One of the strengths of xxxHolic, Vol.

10 is its intricate and detailed artwork. CLAMP’s illustrations are rich in symbolism, texture, and expression, adding a profound visual depth to the story.

The manga’s use of traditional Japanese motifs and architectural elements complements the narrative’s exploration of mythology and spirituality. Another strong point of the volume is the character development of Kimihiro Watanuki.

Throughout the series, readers witness the protagonist’s growth and maturity as he faces various challenges and conflicts. In volume 10, Watanuki’s empathy and courage are tested as he confronts dangerous spirits and uncovers hidden secrets.

On the other hand, some readers may find the plot of xxxHolic, Vol. 10 confusing or convoluted.

The story’s non-linear structure and reliance on symbolism and metaphor may require extra attention and interpretation. Additionally, the volume’s focus on spiritualism and divination may not appeal to all readers.

Overall, xxxHolic, Vol. 10 is a captivating and thought-provoking manga that blends supernatural elements with psychological themes.

CLAMP’s skillful storytelling and exquisite artistic vision make this volume a must-read for fans of the genre. However, newcomers to the series may need to start from the beginning to fully understand the complexity and depth of the story.
