Overview

For over two hundred years, a group of colonists from Earth have been stranded on Methuen, a planet devoid of any technological resources. The Eumedicos, a group of healers, and Seekers Veritas, a unique team of Bondmates consisting of humans and telepathic catlike beings called ghatti, have been instrumental in ensuring their survival.

The Seekers travel across towns and villages, settling disputes by reading the emotions and thoughts of plaintiffs and defendants. However, the Seekers have become targets of a vicious attacker who is terrorizing the pairs.

The attacker has set their sights on one specific Bondmate pair, Doyce and Khar’pern, who hold the key to defeating the enemy. But the only problem is that the solution is locked away in Doyce’s mind, guarded by barriers that even Khar’pern has been unable to penetrate.

Will they be able to overcome this challenge and save their people from the impending doom?

Editoral Review

Finders-Seekers by Gayle Greeno is a novel that was first published on January 1, 1993. It falls under the science fiction and fantasy genre with themes that touch on environmentalism, politics, relationships, and society.

Greeno’s approach to science fiction and fantasy makes it intriguing, as it is not like the usual tropes of the genre.

The book centers on the planet of Methuen, where humans live alongside an alien species known as the Aeyries.

The two groups have a symbiotic relationship, with the Aeyries providing the humans with energy through their telepathic abilities. The story’s protagonist, Ingold Inglorion, is a wizard who can speak to the Aeyries and deal with them more intimately than any human.

When the energy supply on Methuen is threatened, Ingold embarks on a journey with a young musician named Gil Patterson to find alternative energy sources.

The author’s writing style is excellent and captures the readers’ attention from the beginning.

The world building is exceptional, with an intricate and sophisticated plot featuring characters with well-defined personalities. Greeno’s character development is on point, especially for the main protagonists, Ingold and Gil.

The pacing of the book is well-balanced, and the plot structure is excellent, keeping the reader engaged.

The book addresses various issues from politics, to the environment, and discrimination.

The inter-species cooperation on Methuen highlights the possibility of promoting coexistence despite our differences. The author’s approach to these themes is commendable in the way they are handled with such thoughtfulness that leaves a lasting impression on the reader.

One weakness of the book could be the number of characters involved, making it difficult to relate to them all. At some points, the numerous characters cause confusion as the audience tries to keep up with all their different personalities.

Finders-Seekers is part of a series called the Ghatti’s Tale, and readers who love this book will enjoy reading the other six in the series. Gayle Greeno’s work has enjoyed critical acclaim with her books being best-sellers in the genre.

The book is a must-read for avid science fiction and fantasy lovers. It leaves a lasting impression on the reader, and its timely themes make it a relevant read even today.

I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good fantasy novel with an exceptional storyline, characters, and themes.

In conclusion, Finders-Seekers by Gayle Greeno is an exceptional read that is sure to enchant and captivate readers.

The book is well crafted, and it is evident that the author put a lot of thought into it. It stands out from the usual cliches of the sci-fi and fantasy genre as it presents more sophisticated takes on the themes of politics, relationships, and society.

The book has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on its excellent world-building, thought-provoking themes, and captivating story.
